2022 Polaris Ranger 570 vs 2022 Honda Pioneer 520 spec comparison! Watch before you buy! This video talks about the differences of the 2022 Honda Pioneer 520 and the 2022 Polaris Ranger 570 SP. Also I give you my opinion on which unit is best for you. I wanted to add that the Polaris Ranger 570 SP has turf mode which is one wheel drive and the Honda Pioneer 520 does not have this feature. I think both the Ranger and Pioneer have its pros and cons but at the end of day they are both great machines! This is a educational video on a 2022 Honda Pioneer 520 and a 2022 Polaris Ranger 570 SP Premium.

One of the most important features of the Honda was omitted.....it is truly "Trail Legal" for width restricted (50") trails common in the western U.S. And this allows it to be loaded into a 1/2 ton pickup bed, so the owner can skip trailering (a big plus for some of us). Since the Polaris 570 doesn't conform to this contraint, it can be bigger and bulkier, but this comes with disadvantages. TL
I tried for years to be a Polaris guy but I’ve had 4 ATV’s and 1 side by side that proved to be to unreliable after they got a couple years in em. Love the fit, finish, ride of the ranger but it’s pioneer for me. I absolutely ran the shit out of a 15 model 1000 pioneer and put 20,000 miles plus in it with zero issues. Recently sold it and now on a 22 1000-3 and expect the same service out of it.

Agree. The polaris has better specs, more comfort, more storage, and rides better. But..... in 20 years the Honda will still be going were as the polaris will be sitting in a junk yard getting parted out. For hauling, longevity, and towing, you cant beat the gear trany and there is a reason all the farmers in my area have Hondas. For trail riding... I would rather be in the polaris. and this is not really a fair comparison. The price of the polaris is closer to the price of the Honda Pioneer 700.
We all know how this works, Polaris is faster, more fun, more comfortable, packed with more features, but Honda is cheaper and dead reliable. Polaris builds the coolest junk and Honda builds boring tanks.

No Polaris for me. We have them at work and they do not hold up. We also have kawasaki mules and they are a very solid machine and have been reliable.
Struts and rubber bands are so 1970's. Paddle shifters and shaft drives are so 2020 Ferrari 😊

Good to see the old intro back.brings back good memories. I have a 2014 ranger xp 900 and use it every day. Just such a multi use machine. And the storage is unbelievable. My son and I like to throw all our camping gear in it also and head for the mountains. Fishing poles, coolers tents guns. Beer.it’s unbelievable how much crap you can carry. And almost impossible to get her stuck. The 4 wheel dr is very Impressive. I drive it 95% of the time in turf mode or one wheel dr even on the trails.

Power? Handling? Noise? Vibration? Comfort? How do these things compare?
I really wish polaris would offer a proper gearbox. The thing that sucks with the CVT is that when you're descending you have zero engine breaking. If you don't have any throttle input the thing starts to freewheel. Harder wear on brakes and more dangerous especially if you've got a load

My old Sportsman 500 had a great engine brake but the 570 will just take off like a shot downhill. I wonder why they got rid of it.

Both units are great units. I think either unit would be a great unit and if you could buy both units they would be great units for many years. If I could buy both units, I would... but either unit is a great unit.

@@alyakmc1Without knowing how large your unit is, how do we know if either of the units are sufficient units? What if both units united to create a double unit, would your unit still be the larger unit? How many units could a unit unite if a united unit could unite units?

Main difference.....The Honda is bullet proof...The Polaris? Not so much....
I got the Pioneer
My mechanic says that he loves Polaris as they keep him in business. That’s consistent with my experience once the Polaris gets more than a few years old.

The biggest difference is the most important one. One is a Honda...which is known for great build quality and unreal reliability. The other one is a Polaris...which is known for being a Polaris.
Honds misses the mark on no power steering, no turf mod. Polaris askes what thing is premium pirces but buy the roof. Like come on. Now u have cfmoto uforce600 coming on the market in a big way. Reviews so far seem to be favorable and incs. Windscreen, winch, mirrors better tires, built in mud gaurds. All this stuff you have to buy for polaris. I have a ranger 570. Its a nice machine. Thst ssid if cfmoto had the uforce600 when i shppped in 2020. I tnink i know where id have spent my dollars.

Most people don't have acres of manicured turf and aren't driving a UTV on turf.
Storage areas are a minor thing, but Honda should do better.
Polaris has a smoother ride, more room, better ergonomics, more storage and higher top speed. The main thing for me is the Polaris On Demand AWD, it's far superior than anything on the market. Honda doesn't have true 4x4, its 3 wheel drive lol. For the money the Ranger wins in every category, you can't talk about value when it comes to the pioneer because it's missing a whole bunch of features the Ranger SP has. Even the base Ranger 570 is a better buy, in my opinion.

Ranger won't be here in 5 years without big money in repairs and leaving you stranded
Been hoping for a 50 inch Ranger just like the Pioneer with the 570 or even the 450 h.o. motor. Its just not gonna happen.

Buy a midsize and do an engine swap hehe
If you're going to spend more money for the Ranger,then I would buy a Can Am DPS HD7.
The Ranger is a LOT more machine. The power isn't even close.

Power isnt everything unless your loaded with $$ Don't buy a Polaris ...ever
Honda pioneer 520 because after 10, 15, and probably 20 years later it will be still going. Polaris 570 you'll replace 3 or 4 clutches, belts, fuel pump, at a minimum. Sure it rides nice and has more get up and go. But as time goes on and repair costs add up. Hmm...
I Like the 5speed in the pioneer... but yeah its kinda boring lol had it for 4yrs now

i'm 71 and my wife is 63. We have ridden 3400 miles on trails the last 5 years with our honda pioneer 500. No problem with comfort and zero issues with it.
I prefer the Honda but can only get the Polaris in Mexico.
Honda missed the mark by not offering turf mode on the Pioneer 520. The read diff is always locked and that is a deal breaker. The Ranger 570 offers turf mode, so it's a no brainer if you don't want to tear up your yard.

Yeah turf mode is nice to have and I think that's why Honda put less aggressive turf tires on to help with that issue. I haven't had any problems with tearing up my grass because of the tires. Thanks for watching!

@@UTVDIRT and the Honda does not have a limited slip front differential, its only has normal spider gear set up a locker can be added aftermarket..

Honda 520 does not have true locking 4WD. It’s limited slip which sucks.
Do you think the Ranger would be more challenging for a slightly overweight senior with mobility issues to get into and out of vs the Pioneer? Is the lack of power steering of the Pioneer that noticable?

I dont think either unit would be challenging to get in or out of. The Ranger is easier to steer because it has power steering but the Honda isn't terribly hard to steer either but is noticable.

Amazing how much the prices have jumped in such a short time. I bought a new 2019 Ranger XP 900 EPS Crew for 13k (before COVID).

Tell me about it. The 570 SP almost cost as much as my old 2018 Ranger XP 1000. Also my 2019 Can Am X3 went up 6k. Crazy times

Your not gonna find a 520 pioneer in this market …. They don’t exist. They are cheaper. It ain’t much easier to find a 570sp …. But Polaris is pumping them out harder , once in a while you will find one at least .

The Polaris is GONNA Break!!
I’m seriously thinking about buying a Honda Pioneer 520.They lack a few options and especially in cabin storage space but for its smaller size and reliability it’s the best cheap side by side money can buy hands down.I looked at Kawasaki mule xc which are awesome for what they are and looked at CF Moto but I’m scared about reliability over time with a Chinese side by side.Options aren’t gonna get me and my rig out of the middle of the woods when it counts.I can buy a glove box and install it on the Honda for storage but I can’t buy reliability.
