2021 Toyota Tundra 1794 Edition Review...So Good We Bought It?

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

2021 Toyota Tundra 1794 Edition Review featuring the latest Wind Chill Pearl White color. This is the top-of-the-line 2021 Toyota Tundra and I believe the Tundra is one of the most misunderstood trucks. See my 2020 Toyota Tundra Review: • 2020 Toyota Tundra TRD...
We personally own a 2010 Toyota Tundra and we ordered a 2021 Toyota Tundra SR5 with the TRD Off-Road Package. You can get the TRD Off-Road Package with the 1794 Edition and the Limited trim. You cannot get that package with the Platinum trim. Would you choose the Tundra over the new Ram 1500, Ford F-150, Chevy Silverado, or even the Nissan Titan? Let me know your thoughts down below.

Why I love the Tundra over the competition; reliable 5.7l V8 with no cylinder deactivation nonsense, reliable six speed transmission, 4.30 rear end from the factory, none of that 3.73, 3.55, or 3.31 from the completion, and no use of aluminum body panels. 💪🏽

Bravo on the review. I have driven ram 1500, f-150 in 5.0 and 3.6 twin turbo, f-250, and Nissan Titan. There is nothing to me that replaces the sound and feel of a true V8. While people complain about the tundra being antiquated, I love the practicality and utility. Simplicity is so refreshing in my opinion. The round, adjustable AC vents, the huge knobs that you can just turn instead of tapping a touch screen to adjust AC temp and level. I love it. I just didn’t feel like I was in a true V8 while driving the Ram because of the auto shutoff while stopped at traffic lights. I don’t want a Tesla touchscreen. I actually wish other manufacturers would take a cue from Toyota, and hope that Toyota continues to offer more utilitarian options like this and the Sequoia. If it ain’t broke..

Although you're not going wrong with any of the trucks but what I wanted to convey is these other reviews and their assumptions are pretty ridiculous about the Tundra. The 2020 Tundra is leaps ahead of even the 2018 Tundra...those small changes added up for a more refined experience and because of that the Tundra really closed the gap glad the review helped

Well Said. I really appreciate your honest review of this truck. I have driven the fords and rams and I like them also, but every time I go back to the Tundra (I use to own the first Tundra 2000 when it first came out back in Oct of 1999), this truck was silky and solid to drive. I sold this back in 2008 and I recently purchased my second tundra last year (2020 TRD Sports). There is something to be said about the solidness, no frills and simple truck that is very reliable. It does what you want it to do and it has all the amenities that matter and nothing more. Good job.

Had a 2019 f150. Used oil, transmission shifted strangely sometimes. Sometimes when I would crank it up, it would jerk like the drive shaft tried to move. Being a 5.0, of course it had the type writer tick. Traded for a 2021 tundra limited. No issues so far!

I love the Tundra. It is a solid machine. I couldn’t beat the value of the 2020 Silverado Trailboss so ended up buying that and have been blown away by how fantastic it is. It has the V8 and I get 18.5 MPG over all. Price wise it was only a few thousand more than a Tundra and I got dual zone climate control, heated steering wheel, heated seats, remote start, keyless entry/start and tailgate opens with key fob and a two inch factory lift with off-road tires and shocks not to mention the 10 speed transmission which makes it feel more powerful and faster. It was comfortable and very smooth even compared to Tundra, Ram, F150, and Nissan Titan. I spent a few months doing a tremendous amount of research and all trucks are good choices. If I had a tundra I know I would be just as happy and look for all the ways to justify why I bought it. I’ve owned F150, Silverado, and Tundra and honestly, when it comes to cars or SUVs I wouldn’t spend money on anything but Toyota. With trucks there are too many attractive options available. I paid 42k for the Trailboss and after a year I am still excited every time I get to drive my truck. Great review. I think personally without bias when spending 50k on a truck you should drive at least 3 of your favorite options available before buying.

Awesome Silverado my friend great deal on a great truck. You're right, I love how Value Packed the Silverado Trail Boss is and honestly, I love the way it looks too. I'm glad you are sensible enough in finding value with all trucks but most importantly, I'm glad you found an option that best suited your needs, to the point where a year later you still love it. That's what it's all about. Thank you so much for stopping by

Hi, I am new to your channel, you caught my attention from the title. I will say it is refreshing to listen to someone that gets into detail for a review of the Tundra's. Especially when you said you have driven all other brands. Your video made me subscribe to your channel, I dont like to do that to to many because of all the notifications. But any way YES I am a Toyota fan, and a long term truck owner. A year ago I finally bought my first Tundra, actually first full size "had a Tacoma for 11 years before". Plan on handing this 2014 limited TRD crewmax with levelling down to my son around the year 2030 lol. My question to you is if you know about the levelling kits with spacer and some now I see use the 5100 bilstein adjustable shocks if only going up to 2 1/2". Do you think it would be better ride with the shock adjustment than with the spacer on top of shock? Yes it will be a shame if they dont have the V8 option for the future Tundra's. They forsure can modify this V8 for more power and MPG. Just hope they dont sacrifice the know Toyota reliability and dependability for long term use lol.

I'm humbled that you subscribed my friend thank you so much! Congrats on the Tundra but unfortunately I am the worst person to ask when it comes to modifications. I especially I don't recommend lifting trucks, I know it's a common thing many owners do and really enhances the looks but for me it just compromises on road use too much. Lacks smoothness, handling, and safety. But again, I would ask some experts on Truck modifying what their thoughts are. There might be some less compromising, albeit expensive ways to lift a track without sacrificing too much

I love these trucks all I can say is we purchase them and depending on what year you got make sure they have the transmission cooler if they don’t install one. I just watched the release of the 2022 Tundra. I rushed out and bought one of the last 2021s in Ontario Canada. Chill white, 1794. This is my 3rd Tundra. People complain about fuel consumption. Fuel costs less than parts. I typically go 110,000 kms on a set of brakes and I tow things not frequently, but often enough. I have never been on a tow truck and between my trucks have put over 400,000 kms on them. When it comes time to sell these things, the value of a clean Tundra is amazing. If the twin turbo V6 proves to be as good as people feel they will be, mine will be an easy sell. There will be a following of V8s that will go on longer than I'll be around.

Thank you for the great detailed review! I was torn between a 2022 and 2021 Tundra. I wanted the V8 and old school styling but some of the new tech on the 2022 is also nice. I'm currently waiting for my 2022 order of a Limited CrewMax TRD Off Road in Lunar Rock to be delivered as the wait is still 4 months away. I'm located in Vancouver, BC, Canada and the new Tundra's are finally making their way north of the border. My dealer contacted me two weeks ago to let me know that a customer cancelled their order of a black 2021 CrewMax TRD Sport Premium. It is the last 2021 being delivered to BC and since I was first in line waiting for the 2022, I was asked if I wanted it. Without hesitation, I jumped on it! It should arrive in 1-2 weeks and I'm very excited. I won't lie as I was having second thoughts, but your video reassured and convinced me that I made the correct choice! Thank you again for your detailed opinion on the 2021 Tundra! 👍

I have had all gm products and recently had a new one every year starting in 2018. I’m so disappointed in them and I keep going back to them. I’m so done. The 2021 duramax that I have now the driving experience I get just sucks. It wanders down the road. It has great power but doesn’t make up for the crappy driving experience. I am looking at trucks and test drove 3 f150’s but there having engine problems with the 5.0. I drove the tundra and it was nice. Good ride comfortable and just reminded me of what it was like when things were normal. Remind me of like a crown Vick smooth but yet nimble powerful but not uncoupled. I’m going to put money down on one tomorrow. I do have a 3.0 at4 duramax ordered but I think I need to go with my gut and not chase the fluff. The resale value on gm 1/2 ton just suck. Thanks man good video and you are spot on when talking about the Toyota.

  • @MeynMotorGroup

So the thing with the Tundra is the platform might be the same but they continued to make improvements like for example in 2020 the suspension was tweaked for better high speed stability etc. It's subtle Kaizen mentality changes that really add up and make a difference but Toyota does an awful job advertising this and so people assume it's the same vehicle for like 15 years. Resale value is so good it actually makes more sense to pick up and new one with a discount since used models with 30k miles go for nearly as much as a new Truck. But raptor is bada$$

I just never hear it phrased that way and I didn't ask at dealer except to know that I hadn't bought a model which was focused on off-road performance (though I know this model can do okay off-road if I needed tdo something mild to moderate off road). @@MeynMotorGroup I've never owned a truck. My other car is a Chevy SS ('17) that handles like crazy. This isn't anywhere near as tight since it weighs more than 2,000 lbs more and...is a truck! When I first test drove a Tundra, I was upset because local dealer didn't have Sport on the lot because I sensed that I wouldn't like softer SR5 ride / truck ride. Month later at another local area dealer they had a TRD Sport on the lot (wrong color for me) but the test drive confirmed my suspicions: I really liked the handling and the tighter drive. Hard to find anything I liked in south Miss, so I had to put out feelers from the dealer and they found two Barcelona Red ones, one in New Orleans and one in north part of state. Since then, I've put on Westin 5" black nerf bars, rear step up peddle, Husky mats and an after market console safe from Lock'er Down (a mom and pop in San Antone that does nothing but make these console safes for all major truck brands going back to like '05. It's a much better make (thicker with better lock and comes in half and full console) than Toyota safe and lock. Thinking about some sort of window tint treatment but options are numerous; and a bed cover; and maybe an exhaust system that highlights V-8 a bit more. Guy at custom shop even trying to talk me into leather seats! May wait a year on that one cuz I'm not sure about leather being an advantage in hot climate. Loving the heck out of the truck and allows me to save miles on the SS. It's a real workhorse and very reliable. I'm retired, so I didn't mean WORK horse, lol. Play horse, more like it!

Honestly I'm not crazy about the Raptor the TT V6 does not sound good I mean Ford in general does an awful job with how their turbo motors sounds and the exhaust sounds very boomy on it. But driving wise, despite it being so large it really does handle great. That's what the F 150 is best as I just wish they would use their Coyote 5.0l V8 or something in the Raptor an epic vehicle like that deserves a proper engine.

My Gather and i owned a new 2000 tundra TRD. Loved that truck ive also owned a Ford expedition Eddie bauer addition the Tundra was by far the better vehicle. Quite comfortable ride nice handling. I can only amagine the 2021 in comparison. Great review but one critical criticism. Please tell me that was a used truck or at least a Demo that was at the end of its use for the dealer and it had enough miles past its proper break in period. You do not take a brand new vehicle and ring it out like that and floor it. Im sure you were not thinking about it. Either that or you were never told how to properly break in a new engine/new vehicle. Sorry not trying to be that guy but i had to point it out. Otherwise. I wish you and your father well on your new purchase.

Toyota steering is/always has been a little more twitchy however after owning multiple newer vehicles with electric steering, my 07 has given zero issues and is still the complete original front end. I know you are trying to get away from the old reliability excuse but id take this simple rack and pinion with hydraulic power pump any day after forking out thousands on a newer electric setup repairs!
