    I'm glad you figured it out brother. It sucks when you have a problem that seems to come from nowhere. Makes you feel helpless to fix you truck that you invest a ton of trust in. Great to see a straight forward solve. Happy trails that never end.

    I have the same truck and looking to upgrade the transmission cooler for towing. Temps creep up to 220 when towing in stop and go traffic. I know that’s not too hot but I’m trying to keep it cool as possible to prevent issues. Looking forward for your transmission cooler video.

    Check out my video on the thermostat delete! Way cheaper and easier than doing an auxiliary cooler.

    I went with the custom as well because I like the front end better and for me wasn't worth the extra $$ for in my opinion are minor interior upgrades. Wish mine had not come with the auto start/stop feature but was able to take care of that with a Pulsar LT. Absolutely love the truck so far. Sucks that the re-gear is going to run you $4k but guess that's the price you pay running bigger tires.

    @@limitedslipautomotive It's a game changer. Don't have to turn off auto stop every time I get in the truck and have the DFM disabled and reset the governor a little higher. Can also adjust throttle responsiveness from the steering wheel which is fun. It would be even more useful in your situation because you can make adjustments for tire size (speedometer) and axle ratio. Doesn't leave any codes so won't void warranty. Best upgrade I've done hands down.

  • @richardramey3224

    @richardramey3224

    2 жыл бұрын

    Yes 6 speed. I watched it on the dash after watching your video. It would have went higher than 221 and I would have never known if not on dash. I am now not sure if I need a transmission cooler now. It happened three times in the same day. Had to keep parking to cool down. Standard mountain driving. 2 and four wheel drive. Stock tires. Also the truck is not fast and gets only 14.9 mpg. I wanted 35” tires but not if the transmission can’t handle stock tires due to heat.

    Cooler is plenty big on these trucks...it's the trans thermostat that's set too high...need to bypass or replace it...temp is set for 185_195 before it even opens to start cooling...too late by then if under load like towing or steep grade.

    Anybody with a 2020 Silverado with the 5.3 feeL like the transmission just shift kinda hard sometimes? And is a little jerky? Just seeing if this is a common thing with these trucks or if I should be concerned. My truck has 14k miles on it and sometime the tranny just doesn’t feel perfectly smooth. Any thoughts?

    Its a characteristic 6L80 thing. Mine is pretty harsh when its cold, and occasionally on the 2 to 1 downshift. My buddy has 4.88 gears and 35" tires on a 6L80 with 130k miles and its running fine.

    Throw on a catch can help save your motor . And not a big fan of the extras neither I like basic less problems and worries and it's not about the money at all its having to deal with the problems and taking your truck in for a stupid heated seat problem (the heated seat is just a example) but to busy and have better things to do . Simple is good and less stress .
