I was running a 2500 reel and using braid. I could never use fluoro on it without wind knots. Switched to the Vanford and have no problems with fluorocarbon. It’s a surprisingly smooth and trouble free reel!

May I ask… how heavy a fish can the 5000 handle before it starts to flex being that it’s made of composite.

I never understod how people throw rod with one hand than get rod to other to wind the reel. I throw my rod with my right and spin with left. Never need to change hands. Just saying. Good video.

me too ... obviously when i cast with my right hand and reel with my left hand on a baitcast setup, im weird .... but when they cast with the right hand and switch over to hold it on the left hand and reel with the right hand on a spinning setup, it's okay .... lol

Great video - I just received a Vanford and am impressed by the smoothness and weight for sure. My handle feels like there is too much play and after inspecting the long screw in the handle which connects to the reel body seems to be slightly loose and I can wiggle it. This then makes the whole handle feel like there is some play in it when connected to the reel. Does your reel have a similarly loose screw or if my handle perhaps defective? Thanks

I've been looking to get a Vanford. the ones I see for sale DON'T have the T handle/knob. I don't see any that have it. Hmm.

the smaller sizes like the 1000 reel and the 2000 size reels don't have the T handle. The T handles starts at size 3000 and goes up from there

The 2020 vanford is the newest model right?

i never owned the Vanford, but i do owned the Stella and the Vanquish; and they're (the reels) 2-3 times the price of the Vanford though. Plus if you think the Vanford is smooth, you haven't try the Stella yet, you might wet your pants lol
