2021 Rogue Invitational - Women's Individual Event 7 - The Duel

Complete coverage of the Duel, the 7th and final event of the Women's Individual competition at the 2021 Rogue Invitational, from Dell Diamond in Round Rock, Texas (Sunday, October 31). The Duel is a single-elimination bracket event in which the top 5 women on the leaderboard earn an automatic bye into Round 2. The workout itself has a 90-second time cap and includes a sequence of double-unders, squat snatches, and a sand bag lift.
Much like the men's division, the women's title was very much up for grabs at the very end, with the inspiring Annie Thorisdottir giving defending champ Tia-Clair Toomey her greatest challenge in years. In a mirror of what happened to Pat Vellner on the men's side, though, one small mistake proved the difference for Annie, as Toomey was able to win the Duel outright and secure the points she needed (625 to 560 in total) to best Thor's Daughter. Tia has now won every Rogue Invitational women's title since the competition's inception in 2019.

Didn't seem to be a tough final from some of the other events! Nothing against Tia but i was rooting for annie

This event was set up for Tia to get beat but the heart of The Champion came through.

Yes, because you already know who wins before the event ends. After Annie was out, you already know Tia wins. Also, a mistake on one round can make a massive difference in placing.

I may have missed something spoken, but why was Migala's time not recorded in heat two? It literally posted everyones time but hers.. even if she didn't time well enough to move forward.. she fought hard and deserved to have her time listed in 3rd for the heat like anyone else. Y'all just put her dead last automatically and there were people still on the field well behind her.

Way to go Tia 🐐❤️, all the male athletes came up the box and cheered for Kwant and Malheiros during the last heat. Sad to see the females being salty and not cheering on the last two competitors.
I counted also like 63 or 62 doubs for Laura..it shouldn't happen in the final...I would hope it will be reviewed by a headjudge.

I counted 63 (at least 62) DU of Laura Horvath in the final heat. She could have won if the judge counted properly.
Tia seems off, not her bubbly self 🤷🏻♂️ love her, hopefully she’s okay 👌🏻

Tia and Annie were pretty close on the leaderboard leading up to this event, so that was just her being super focused on getting that W.

What in the world is "Athlete Control"?? Good lord, they're highly disciplined people, and in better shape than the ones wearing the "control" shirts.. What's this about? Are the athletes throwing parties in the dugout or something? Who decided on this name for the ones looking after the athletes? Are they still going by this title? I plan on competing soon, and can't be controlled. Far too wild. Savage.
