2021 Rogue Invitational - Rogue Record Breakers - Thor's Hammer

Спорт

Thor's Hammer was the fourth Rogue Record Breakers challenge from the 2021 Rogue Invitational in Round Rock, Texas (October 29-31). Tasked with completing one-arm deadlifts with custom-made Rogue hammers of ascending weight, this ultimate test of grip strength included a RRB payout of $5,000 for the heaviest successful lift of 275LB or greater. It was a prize that enticed the newly crowned Rogue Invitational Strongman champion Martins Licis to step back into the arena on Sunday. Completing a record-setting 300LB hammer lift, Martins then took a final bow for of the Dell Diamond crowd, topping his fantastic weekend.
Details of the Challenge:
Hammer Weights: 200LB, 225LB, 250LB, 275LB, 300LB, 325LB, 350LB
You can check out more event streams and highlights on the Rogue KZread channel, or see final leaderboards, workout details, and competitor info at www.roguefitness.com/invitati...

Martins as the Odd Haugen's apprentice is surely great at grip events but I would love to see Brian. He may not to be in his prime overall anymore but his grip is fenomenal and as much as I admire Martins, Brians grip is just best of the best. Mark Felix is great in grip events with thicker handle as his hands are massive but this type of grip is a bit different.

Unfortunate that Brian Shaw was injured and couldn't join this grip competition here, since he is quite good with grip. Really awesome stuff from Licis. Oh, Mark Henry would be interesting to see here... I don't know if this is his type of grip strength though, where you need squeezing power. Usually he is more, holding onto huge weights for a long time where you're not exactly squeezing per se. Holds vs grip.

giving them these hammer at a weight they can actually fully pick up and hold would be interesting. things like this even at a light weight can be hard to hold out on a stable arm.

@@mikasd9 The owners are different but Rogue is heavily involved in the Arnold and both shows are run by Jan Todd so it felt very similar to me. This Rogue show shared 2 events that are featured every year at the Arnold, not to mention the cyr dumbbell event though it was reconfigured a bit. It’s just a weird comment since they’re basically the same show except this one was in a baseball stadium 😄 Maybe they meant World’s Strongest Man is stale…
