    Pro tip for everyone: replace the pouch that comes with the saywer water filter. They're only laminated at the edges, which makes them prone to leaking and bursting. I discovered this a couple days into a backpacking trip. Thankfully my buddy had replaced the pouch for his filter with the CNOC Vecto, so we rocked that. "Smart water" brand bottled water also uses the same threading on their bottles (which are pretty rugged), so that's an option as well.

    Thanks for the pro tip! I’ve never used the bag really. I know the intrusions say to use it to backflow and “clean” the filter. Which is why I keep it with the kit,but would you recommend just using like a water bottle or whatever to accomplish the same task? 🔥appreciate the comment

    I’ve done the same thing, I made one up for me and one up for my girl. We both run 9mm and 5.56. Plus we each have a tote with just food preps. 4 totes total ready to go and we both have the skills to stay in the boonies indefinitely if needed. The Condor colossus bag also works for this setup as well but way more expensive. I don’t see any spare clothes or any type of weapon oil or cleaning kit.

    Many quality choices there, I'd suggest upgrading the mess kit to an MSR Alpine Stowaway Pot, they make a few sizes, and they're around 20 bucks. I run Gen3 ECWCS level 6 Goretex Top and Bottom for rain gear but a military poncho would be cheaper. I also have the level 1 and 2 base layers and a Helikon Tex Patriot Fleece for the level 3 ecwcs. Really nice loadout dude. I don't have the Brothers of Bushcraft, but I do have a TOPS Brakimo, very similar knife, and a Gransfors Bruk Scandinavian Forest Axe. My long term Bug out Bag is the USMC ILBE Main Pack. Short term Bug out Bag is the USMC ILBE Assault Pack. I have a Condor Rapid Assault Chest Rig that holds six 30rd pmags plus one in my PSA 16" in 5.56

    Thanks. While I do have access to a 5.56, 300blk ammo is/ will always be available to me…because I make it. Simply trimming and converting spent 5.56 brass, and loading .30 cal projectiles into them. So 300 Is abundant and will always be, so long as I have my reloading equipment. But, to top that off, i don’t even need a full 5.56 upper, but a simple barrel swap, and this rig is a 5.56… thanks for watching.

    I did the same thing last year. I don’t subscribe to the smallest, lightest bag theory. If something goes down and you have to no shit leave your home, a stupid 13 lb backpack ain’t gonna cut it. You will have no way of knowing what time of year and weather conditions you’ll be bugging out nor will you know what you need. I have everything I could possibly need in my trunk. If I need to bug out and time permits, I take what I need from the trunk and stuff into bag and leave. If time doesn’t permit, I grab the whole trunk and roll. I thinks it’s a good system .

  • @thequietcamper5499

    @thequietcamper5499

    Those people are dumb. 300 BLK has a wider range of projectile choices, thanks to the . 30 caliber bore, burns its full potential in a 9-inch barrel, and is a much better choice for hunting. It also has the ability to cycle both super and subsonic ammunition without modification. Also I reload, so the range is my oyster. I turn 556brass into 300blk. Lastly a simple barrel switch is all it takes to convert the platform back to 556. Simply put, 300blk is a superior round. And all around system IMO. Thanks for the comment. Please sub.

  • @thequietcamper5499

    @thequietcamper5499

    2 жыл бұрын

    To be fair. I’ve never owned an Eotech, but I am extremely happy with the Holosun. Battery life on Holo is 50,000hrs. Eotech is around 1000. Holosun has 3 different reticles, shake awake tech, 10 brightness and 2 night vision settings. Auto brightness option, can operate without a battery, and it’s so durable, I’ve seen a video where a guy shoots his Holosun with a 12 gauge , and puts it back on his rifle and it held zero. Just research online comparisons between the 2 options, and I think you’ll agree that the Holosun is a better option, And it’s even more affordable too. Again. I throughly enjoy it. Especially being able to co-witness with the green laser , it allows me to use my rig as a range finer as well. When the green laser , lines up in the center of the 65 MOA ring, I have it set at 25yards and can adjust accordingly. I hope this helps. But to reiterate I would choose Holosun again and again.

    I have the capabilities to reload 5.56 brass, and make 300 blk myself. 30 caliber projectiles are more common, available and have a more diverse selection of grains/projectile type than 5.56. So I would argue that I have more access to ammunition then just having a 5.56. Further, I have 5.56’s. And I’ll if need to do is plop a 5.56 upper on this lower and it’s ready to go. Even more, all I would need to do is switch the barrel of my 300 blk and nothing else, to a 5.56 barrel and every other component of the 300 would work on the 5.56. Cheers, thanks for watching.

    Further, I run this rifle subsonic most of the time. Because of the suppressor. Another benefit of 300. I can quickly and easily switch to supers and no need to adjust any gas or anything.

    You’re having to haul around a lot of crap and I did say 5.56 NATO and 7.62 NATO also yeah I realise you can change out the AR uppers I would rather haul around ammo for both of my rifles then haul around uppers and reloading equipment for 5.56 NATO and 300 blackout Specially in a situation like SHTF Specially if you get in a firefight with somebody you’re not gonna be able to collect your brass

    I would like to hear you talk about the items you are selecting and thought process behind them. Its hard to follow your video as it is currently. Tell me what it is and why its here if you really are interested in quality feedback and inspiring others. The subtitles are a little fast at times in the video leading to having to replay/ pause when audio would have just flowed.

    So….I’ve got 50% of what you’ve got in the video. I’ve watched this video at least 5 times. I often commute 2-3 hours between destinations so it’s time to get the other 50%. My thought is to keep this trunk secured in my truck. I suspect you do the same.

    Nice. I keep my stuff locked away in the house, as permanent residence In my truck would be too risky for theft in my area. I also highly recommend testing/using your stuff. Go camping with it. Train with it. You may find certain items not as useful or sturdy or reliable as you may have hoped.

    @@thequietcamper5499 yeah - I may keep a watered down Get Home bag with some of the same items. I’ve debated keeping a truck gun. I’m in a relatively low theft area “most” of the time. I transit between the mountains and the city. With the winter the risk/reward factor might be worth it. Appreciate the feedback.
