Minuteman Line Gear for SHTF and Militia

In today's episode of the Bear Independent show, we discuss Line Gear for the Militia and for SHTF preppers. The idea behind Line Gear is that you have different layers of equipment so that if you need to move quickly, like a Minuteman or SHTF prepper, or Escape and Evade, you can. You also have redundancy, which is super important for TEOTWAWKI SHTF WROL.
It is important to have your Minuteman Load Out squared away for SHTF TEOTWAWKI WROL because you never know when your team or militia is going to need you. I like to practice with different line gear load outs until I get it just right.
We use and love a lot of Condor gear around here, including the Condor MOPC, the Condor Recon Chest Rig, the Condor 72 hour bag, the Condor battle belt, and dozens of condor pouches. We have had very good experiences with Condor and I would recommend them for SHTF WROL TEOTWAWKI and Minuteman loud out and Militia kit.

Another good one. No legal carry here, .22 semi-auto's only, and some limitations on shotguns, but still have kit , and can do similar but much more bushcraft orientated over here. Even our knife carry is severely limited. So beware of losing your rights folks, especially the 2nd. Regards from the Irish Republic...which is somewhat debatable!

@@markchase5323 yeah Mark, only semi-auto's allowed are .22 though much larger for centre fire bolt actions. Only pistols are .22 and loads of restrictions including no carry permits. So range use only. No human shaped targets and no tactical training either.

Great video. I enjoy your channel. Don't forget that duct tape burns really well if you need a flame extender. I seen some people carry a couple sand bags (empty) in their line 3 since if you're out long enough to need your pack, you might need to setup a defense. I'd probably put a couple water purification tabs in the duct taped MRE to purify your gallon zip lock of water. Easy to say while warm and dry in front of my computer :)

You can be arrested, unless you can explain why you have it. But as an ex infantry sniper I love the video. I see many video's from people who obviously don't know what they are doing, and they will get people hurt. So it's good to see a video from someone that makes sense. I have heard of different ways on how the line system is done. We used a method close to yours: Line 1: Things on your person and in your clothes and not only your pockets&belt. You could add a few E&E things which, depending on the application wouldn`t be a bad idea (if you`re interested i have learned a few very interesting&usefull things about this in the last few months that could be interesting/usefull for preppers/everyone and i could write things down here). Depending on what we did we wore a smock, which was in a way line 1 but i`d call it 1b . A strange but interesting piece of clothing&concept. Line 2: Primarly the LBE, whatever it is. Line 3a: Daypack/assaltpack (about 30 liter, might be bigger or smaller). If line 3b was worn it was under the cover of the backpack. Line 3b: 110L backpack. Probably simmilar to yours. Line 4: Vehicle/storage (although not called as such and usually not included in the line system).

But due to recent let's say situations home and abroad I'm not just getting into preparing. I know a bit late but I've always been into it . Done alot of reading an watching vids. I have alot of fear buchcraft wise and survival wise. But I need to start setting up Bob bags for myself and my wife and son. So my question is your wearing a battle belt or whatever chest rig and pack ! How much does all that weigh ? What about plate carrier , does the chest rig go over that? I thought that you molled all the mag pouches and stuff on a plate carrier? I'd like to get myself a whole set up similar than yours plate carrier with some pouches mag and first aid small dump pouch. Belt and pack . I have alot of packs already. I'm just no building 3 of them into dedicated Bob for me and my family .Is there a website you have with information on some of this stuff I can read.

Hi Bear! Long time no see! Although your combat line gear load-out is a "heavy 55", it is quite awesome and quite the "Cat's Ass" if I may say so myself! The overall thought that went into your gear make-up is most awesome too! I would only hope to assemble to build or put together someday, something almost 3/4 the weight modeled after a scout or patrol type version. Would that challenge you or give you any strange new way of or idea as such to model a different style load-out system?? I know that you are indeed pretty damn hardcore but try and conger up something that could very well suit the lighter alternative that is suggested! The overall makeup of the weight that really tips the scale is perhaps/surely the rife, sidearm, water and radio. Mags n ammo might be pushing 9-11 pounds?? Radio 1.75 lbs? If you had to really scat in an all-fired hurry, a range of 3 miles, you could shave some time quite expeditiously. I hope that Christmas time is all great for you and your family! Great video and once again: "Cat's Ass"!!! Keep up the great work and God Bless!

Mine is about the same just change the guns to colt 1911 and AK-47. My load out is more geared for communications support though and not grunt work. One thing I will never reveal is the exact details of my gear or what outfit I am with online.. I take security and privacy seriously.

@VT Concerned Citizen You're Green Mountain, I'm White Mountain ;) BTW, some of us out there do have real radios; I hump around a Kenwood TK-5210 (1st line), and Icom IC-7200 (3rd line, if there's a need for HF)!

@VT Concerned Citizen I'm on the Western side of the Whites and can hit a lot of the VT machines, but I tend to stick to simplex mostly when on VHF, though 75M is my real bread and butter; if you're in or near the NEK, try me on 52. Drop me an email, and maybe we can set up a sked and link up on the bands; I'm good on QRZ. 73

Great video. If I may quibble, and it's definitely quibbling and probably semi-heretical, why would the pistol stay on after line 1? I heard you say you don't like to have to use it (and I agree whole heartedly with you) so wouldn't more rifle ammo, food, water etc. be a better use of that weight? And also, I have found a shovel to be indispensable. I would want one on my line 3.

If you're knee deep in the two way range with "targets" inside 25 yards (some say 50) and you jam, or run dry, side arm transition is faster than any reload or remedial action. Especially in MOUT

That is a good point. I question if the average guy, and by that I mean me, is going to be well enough trained to still not be better off sticking with the rifle.
