The Quiet Camper

The Quiet Camper

Follow along and experience a series of camps, hunts, survival, preparation, bushcraft, catch and cooks, primitive and traditional tools, restoration, outdoor living and all things included & more. Sometimes set in urban hiding spots, other times in secluded national forests, but always alone & under the radar when I can be. Other times just doing the things we all want to do in the wild, and alone. I’m a sportsman, with a conscience, practice leave no trace, sometimes remaining unseen, having fun and filming my experiences are my main objectives.

All filming, editing and post production is done by Mat Jones.

    Hey. So I’m shooting CCI Quiet. It’s a super slow velocity, about 710FPS. Meant to be shot from a bolt action rifle. It doesn’t have enough power to cycle the slide, like a higher velocity ammo does. Normal velocity for 22LR is about 1200fps. This gun will cycle the slide with CCi Quiet Seni-Auto. Which runs at like 850FPS. Is cycles with any velocity ammo above that. But I was showing off how insanely quiet it can run, with the wrong ammo. Like a staple gun.

    Video does a lot of justice but not just exactly what I was looking for. You give me your opinion, how well does the color of the light match the slide and stuff?

  • @thequietcamper5499
    @thequietcamper5499 Жыл бұрын

    Thanks for the question. If I’m understanding correctly, you’re asking if the FDE color of the TLR is an exact match of the slide. No it’s not the exact same paint color. But, the FN’s slide and frame aren’t the exact same FDE either. And neither is the RMR. But as a whole, with all four slightly different FDE colors all on one platform, it looks really cool. I personally doubt I’d like/want a setup that was all 100% the exact same FDE across the platform. I think it would then look like a rattle-can job or something.

  • @thequietcamper5499

    I have the capabilities to reload 5.56 brass, and make 300 blk myself. 30 caliber projectiles are more common, available and have a more diverse selection of grains/projectile type than 5.56. So I would argue that I have more access to ammunition then just having a 5.56. Further, I have 5.56’s. And I’ll if need to do is plop a 5.56 upper on this lower and it’s ready to go. Even more, all I would need to do is switch the barrel of my 300 blk and nothing else, to a 5.56 barrel and every other component of the 300 would work on the 5.56. Cheers, thanks for watching.
