Next time you're out on a drive count how many HUGE cars you see with a single occupant inside. It's madness really, a car like this is all the personal transport most people need. Two adults and a couple of ankle snappers will be quite happy in it for most journeys.Small is beautiful.

I like older small cars but I absolutely hate modern small cars. I like the small space and gas mileage but the quality of the interior is always horrendous. Hard plastic this hard plastic that, hard suspension and hard seats, etc. Everything is so hard and uncomfortable in small cars and it seems like only the top of the line executive sedans ever have any semblance of ride comfort anymore. Good thing small cars were equally as comfortable as large ones 30 years ago, hence I still drive Peugeot 205s.

@@JW20236 Eh I find older cars to be more reliable anyway. I mean they'll still break all the time, but so will any 5-10 year old modern car anyway, and older cars are so much easier to fix (assuming you can find the parts), and while modern small cars can get some pretty ridiculous economy, it's all thanks to overly complex computer management that only delays the inevitable obsolescence of the internal combustion engine, thanks to the lower weight of older cars, they still get pretty good economy with much simpler technology, and in regards to space...a 205 has loads more space than a brand new 208.

@@GlamStacheessnostalgialounge I actually meant older cars in terms of 60's and 70's but I have found 'modern' (post-2000) cars to be fairly reliable (engine-wise), its just the electrical stuff that seems to implode far too often. But yes, impossible to fix for the DIY mechanic. One thing modern cars can not beat at all is the character of pre-millenium vehicles. Not by a mile.

Hi mate. I live in Israel so we don’t get picanto with turbos 😢. I had a 2019 gt line which got stolen last week. I’m now looking at getting a 2023 gt line 1.2 liter automatic manual 5 speed transmission. Which I was surprised to see and even has cruise control I’m SOLD! waiting for my insurance to pay me and I’ll make my order. Kia's evolution has been incredible. From building old Mazdas in the early 90s to honing their own craft to class leading models today. The 7 year warranty was an absolute triumph and I bet now they have stolen lots of sales from Ford, Vauxhall, the French and the Italians, especially if Renault, Citroen and Fiat's sales are anything to go by. We had a load of Picantos on the local car club fleet back in 2012 and they held up really well over the 5 years they stayed. Very easy cars to recommend to people with confidence. I love that they've stuck with proper buttons, a key and a real handbrake too

I have been a Kia owner for many years now so I already know just how good their cars are. Hopefully some day you'll do a review of the mark 2 Rio CRDi, which I can safely say, is one of the best cars I've ever owned, and I used to be a Volvo driver. These small cars are completely transformed by fitting them with Avon ZT7 low noise tyres. Recently, one of my daughters borrowed my Rio for two weeks while her BMW Mini Cooper D was off the road waiting for a replacement headlight bulb, meanwhile I borrowed my Mate's Merc C220. I couldn't wait to get my own car back, because the driver's seat is more comfortable and because it has better lights and does 20 miles more on a gallon of diesel.

    2 жыл бұрын

@@hunchanchoc8418 I just did a bit of research online. The ZT7s produce 68dB of noise which s about the lowest you get. Every 3dB lower is half, so 71dB is twice as loud as 68 and 74dB is 4x etc. Just like washing machines, tyres are rated for their characteristics 'A to E'. The Avons are not the most fuel efficient, being rated 'C', but have good grip in the wet 'B', and 'A' for (low) noise. Of course lower noise is not the only benefit from these tyres, they give a smoother ride too.

Ive got a previous version 2016 Kia Picanto Chilli (Equivalent of an xline in previous model). Bought it 3 years ago as a runabout and its a great little car. Has load of kit as standard including built in sat-nav etc, air con, power mirrors , auto lights and drives like a bigger car quality wise and has great mpg and great handling. 7 years warranty and servicing is reasonable as I buy the service packages. Only downsides are had to replace tyres (Hankook OEM) due to perishing when only 4 years old (still loads of tread on them but starting to perish ) and the stop start only works which the battery is fully charged which is rarely as the battery fitted is too small for a car with loads of kit. Never looked back since buying it and would buy another tomorrow.

The 3 only comes with the non-turbo 1 litre or 1.25 litre engines doesn't it? I already own a 2 with the 1.25 litre engine and I find it a little under powered, so the 1 litre must be puny. When I swap my Picanto 2 next year, I'm going for a 1litre turbo in GT line S trim, with climate control and heated seats and steering wheel. Two more features that aren't available on the 3, and a Boon in cold weather. My friend has a GT line with the turbo engine, and it's much nippier than my 1.25 and she manages 50 mpg quite easily.

It's not even really about "assistance" to me. More about convenience. It will be law for all cars to have these soon I reckon, it already is in America.

This would be a death trap with all the other vechiles on the road over on this side of the road. A full size crossover like a Highlander or Grand Cherokee hitting this wouldn't be pretty. But most Americans find cars this size unsafe or ugly and we got the room to have bigger cars. Not really any reason for a car this small. But that explains why we dont have it.
