I prefer the looks of the old one. I own a 2017 gt line turbo and i love it. Drivning wise it reminds me of 80s hot hatch. Keep up the good work!

Is this only for the city? Would you go on a long trip with it?

Really excited! Test drove that engine with a manual and it was comparible to my Mazda 2 1.3. Can only imagine what awaits. ;)

At 20:29 the l/100km values are wrong. The equivalent for 35 mpg is 6.72 l/100km and for 46 mpg you get 5.11 l/100km.

Seems that only heated and cooling seats won't come, other things remain same. I'm waiting for it, money is ready, seem still have few months to launch. Hope kia brings honey bee color, I really love it, white is very easy to be dirty in aus.

@@jingge5593 We also don't get lane keep assist, climate control, blind spot monitoring, sunroof etc... I ordered my GT in December 2019 and then they announced the facelift.... I am willing to swap up but they really aren't offering anything new compared to the model they replace. I was so hopeful for LKA, Australia has some of the longest roads in the world and I sometimes drive 4hrs a day to commute. If they don't put it in the 2020 picanto I will probably buy a Rio with it (when they eventually bring radar cruise too, I think next series)

Mate I'm Australian and own the picanto gt 2019 model with the 1.0 turbo (g3lc engine) 5 speed manual ( stick shift) and a stage 1 chip and it goes 0 100 8.5 seconds. No mods to intake or exhaust.

Here in the Philippines, its actually worse We don't get parking sensors, smart key system, sunroof, leather seats, LED DRLs and LED tailights, power folding mirrors, traction and stability control, only has 2 airbags, auto climate

This facelift certainly looks a lot better and more 'sophisticated' than the current model. The current model GT/GT line is obviously trying too hard to reel in young, first time buyers with its gaudy sad shaped grill and coloured contrasting trims.

Frugal? It averages 34mpg. But thats the average across nearly all cars under 2L.

I hope this car reaches the Philippine market. Either I go for a small hatch back like the Kia Picanto or go for a Chinese car like the Geely Coolray for my 1st car. Two car with different performance. Hmmm.. go cheap or go like a richman. Hmmm...

definitely will become in the near future to annihilate the Seat Mii, VW up and Skoda City go electrics. but the extra kilos will cost in its agility as it is now. will need tones of bhp and readjusted suspension to compensate. plus at least a battery that can offer 250-300km range and can charge up full in less than 6 hours over night at a 220v house.🙄

Why do they only ever review the 16" variants with vinyl seats, sun roof and gaudi trim? They also complain about the boot lip and rear seat leg room!!! And of course its not as fast as a Golf GTI. OMG no cup or bottle holders in the rear!!! I have a two year old 3 spec auto 1.25L and its great. 20k miles with 100% reliability.

Efficient as per MPG? Officially 48 mpg but nearly every tester shows just 35 mpg on the dash display. The official mpg figures are dishonest. OH!! This car is averaging 19.4 mpg.

i live in Ireland and this car retailed at around 20k its so much money for this little car, if bird lands on its bonnet i m afraid bird will go trough it!!

The "old" one had two little chrome exhaust tips that looked really cool.

Is it fast, no, is it efficient no. I have a mk3 3 spec auto. Its fast enough and can do 35mpg. (Reviewers can only manage 28mpg!). Its much better than the competition with the advantage of a proper torque converter box. However, the new mk3.1 has no auto option and is waiting for the new DCT next year. The DCT is a bad idea as Ford and VW buyers found. Also the automated manuals of Toyota, Citroen and Peuget have been dropped as clutch wear was horrific, only 20-30k miles.

lovely small car and.......how long will it take again to get this well equipped city zipper as it is here presented Down Under? No, please none of the NO FRILLS versions like it is done with other models that did arrive in Australia. One can feel being punished and dumped driving on the wrong side of the road. It handicaps Australians on car models of other brands seen elsewhere coming into our country. On that note, just have a look what is there on the market in the UK and funny that - why can't we have those in Australia? Sadly we are swamped with lots of those Chinese budget car brands we could do without as they do not have Outback durability and so very poor and thinly spread on having backup services. Kia and Hyundai are very well established Down Under so we deserve a bit more on finesse. Just look how the Yanks getting spoiled and compare this what we in Australia get. Please pass this on and Kia and Hyundai as they may rethink their dealings with Australia and give us also the better equipped models. Yes, we do drive a South Korean car so we know what we are writing about here, we have a Kia Rio and a 2020 Hyundai Kona Active, now only two weeks young. Keep up the good work - we love seeing your presentations and keep us posted, cheers!

Korea / Seoul about 5 months before the coronavirus border closures staying at the Hill House Hotel that made us feel like it was our second home, situated just 450 meters from the base cable car station of the Namsan Park leading up to the N-tower. We had our eye on Kias and Hyundai cars in Oz and noticed once exploring Seoul we in Oz have far poorer equipped models compared to what we saw while driving around in Seoul. It felt a bit like two children standing in a candy store seeing all those sophisticated outfitted models and hybrid versions we still were unable to buy in Oz at that time and they only appear now in showrooms Down Under. My wife's dream would have been the Veloster, but it is a bit too small to be used as the "do the shopping car" and so is the Picanto so she drives the Rio. The other day I placed a 55 liter car fridge / freezer in the boot of our new 2020 Kona Active, I had to lower the floor panel and remove the top cover to get it in and there is not much room left for additional shopping bags in the boot - they have to go on the back seats. We had the dilemma where to plug the fridge in with only one 12 Volt socket at the very front. I had to buy an extension to reach to that socket, we live in the country and drive 50 km to do our closest shop and in summer we hit around 40 centigrade so we need that car fridge. Those side pockets in the doors are so tiny and our umbrellas just have to rest somewhere on the floor. We really love how this 2 liter / 6 speed auto Kona performance and the fuel economy is absolutely excellent. This lane assistance steers this car along by itself - a dream to drive! The downside is that it does not hold the speed on the set cruise and shows 7 km more as we actually really drive. If we drive in accordance to the speed showing, we would be a roadblock to other road users. We can get booked in Oz for driving to slow without having a good reason - our roads are narrow and overtaking another car there has its risks, on the other side going 5km over the speed limit brings also a speeding ticket - we have hidden radar cameras everywhere.
