2021 Honda Rebel 1100 DCT Oil Change

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

This video shows how to change both the engine and transmission oil and filters on a 2021 Honda Rebel 1100 DCT motorcycle. The oil and filters came from a Honda dealer and cost about $60. Be sure to keep the receipts for warranty purposes.
Please note that the Honda Rebel 1100 owners manual calls for 10w30. I used the 10w40 because that's what the dealer gave me and said it was the correct oil. I didn't question them.

    @@ThisIsStartingToAnnoyMe seems like a lot my truck takes 5.5qts. This is my first bike so wasn't sure if that was normal. Maybe with such a large capacity that's why they recommend oil filter every other service? If I'm changing oil the filters going too though.

    It's nice to get out every last drop of old oil, but that would be a small amount. You could also just hold the bike balanced for a couple of minutes.

    You should've pushed the filter all the way in when you installed it by hand rather then just setting it in there like you did. in doing it how you did you could've pinched or crushed the rubber seal and never even known you did it. Better to be safe then sorry.

    I got my windshield off Amazon. It was labeled "Puig 0336W Clear Custom II Windshield for 8" Headlight". It cost $111. I had to trim off a couple of inches from the struts as they wanted to rub on the gas tank. I drove with it to Arkansas (from Kansas) without any problems.

    I got the oil from mr Honda dealer. I just asked for oil for my 1100. She gave me 10w40 but it should have been 10w30. I think it was about $30. I also got 2 oil filters and it all came to about $60.

    sorry if this was already asked, does it really matter if you use GN4 oil or HP4S oil? i found the GN4 oil 4 Qt for $30 bucks (Amazon) and i purchased 5Qt HP4S oil $60 (at the dealer) over all i ended up paying $90 for the filters and O-ring, just trying to figure out if it was worth it to spend the extra $30 bucks for the HP4S oil a the dealer or go for the cheaper GN4 oil in Amazon..

    I copied this off an ad o Amazon. New Pro Honda HP4S is Honda's first fully synthetic 4-stroke motorcycle oil and was quite literally years in the making. HP4S is compatible with synthetic blends such as HP4, as well as regular petroleum oils like GN4. There is no need to flush the crankcases before switching to HP4S. Offers lower friction than conventional oils and better oxidation resistance for better high heat performance. Also gives higher film strength and quicker flow to vital engine parts at low temperatures, especially during start up. Provides maximum power due to less frictional drag. HP4S is recommended for use in all 2006 or newer motorcycles, ATVs, scooters and PWC. It is quite simply put - Pro Honda's very finest four-stroke oil.

    When u recomendéd the next oil change after 600 service ,what miles

  • @ThisIsStartingToAnnoyMe

    @ThisIsStartingToAnnoyMe

    The Honda manual says to replace the oil at 8,000 miles. It does not include the oil and clutch filter at that time but does add it at 16,000 miles. If you don't put many miles on your bike, I would replace the oil every year.

    Do you need to change also transmission oil or is it just one engine oil for both ?

  • @ThisIsStartingToAnnoyMe

    @ThisIsStartingToAnnoyMe

    2 жыл бұрын

    I prefer to do both. I don't know the actual requirement, it's not in the owners manual, but the manual shows to use 4.2 quarts as the oil capacity and that is what it uses when draining both and changing the oil filter.

    honda recommends 10w30 not 10w40 ...and I wrong?

  • @ThisIsStartingToAnnoyMe

    @ThisIsStartingToAnnoyMe

    2 жыл бұрын

    You are correct. I added that to the description above. I used the 10w40 because that's what the Honda dealer handed me when I asked for Rebel 1100 oil. I have used 10w30 since then. I also have learned that car oil and motorcycle oil differs in that motorcycles use their oil for wet clutches and therefore use friction modifiers.
