@@5abivt Motortrend weighed the new M3 comp with bucket seats and carbon ceramic brakes and it weighed 40kg less than the Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio. So you can expect this M3 with the lighter manual gearbox and heavier seats and brakes to weigh identical to the Giulia, if not a smidge less.

I’ve driven almost every manual bmw there’s ever been other than the rare ones. The only car that had me obsessed after driving it was the e90 generation m3, a month ago i bought one myself and i couldn’t care less how much heavier or slower it was it had the soul. This is a great video that shows that feeling even for people who can’t feel it themselves.

Nah that’s personal. I’ve driven these but you have to rev the snot out of them to move and I just don’t like that for a weekend warrior. I gets my kicks out of in-line 6 engines with turbos and open wastegates, preferably big single turbo ones as in the Supra I own. They still make their power way quicker, and really sound like a jet.

Drove my '09 M3 as a daily for 6 years. Absolutely love the car! So much connection, so planted and confident. Drive my F80 as a daily now, but still bring out the e90 for the most fun.

A 2008 is pretty easy to retrofit with the newer idrive, which gets you a high res display and bluetooth audio. Also lets you install one of the Chinese carplay/android auto retrofit kits.

That V8 in the E90 is just glorious. Makes the I6 sound tame

Keep up the solid work TH! Love these retrospective review, so many great cars at affordable prices that are often overlooked because people want the latest and greatest. Would love to see one for the G37 and Q60 coupe if your planning another one of these, the Q60 is due for a refresh in the next year or so but the engine is a nice sample of whats to come with the 400Z.

I’ve rewatched this a few times and after 10 years of E92 ownership - I love the fox red leather, I replaced the start/stop button, did an Apple car upgrade and I will never ever sell this again (again). I sold it and bought it back after and F80. Also - no creaks and rattles and the 2013. Great video. The first one was a garage queen. Second purchase - drove cross country twice

This makes me miss my E9X. Such a balanced car. Mine was a fully loaded, space grey metallic one with oyster interior. I traded it in for a base model VW Golf as i needed something more economical.

If anything, this video just makes me want an E90 M3 even more. Beautiful sound, amazing looks, surprisingly practical.... Someday.

You give us insanely good quality content for free. That's respectable and I hope it stays like that for long.

@@vambat3523 speaking from experience here. Keep working and keep your eye on the prize. You will 100% get it if you save and be smart. $15 an hr at 14 is a goldmine. You can be decently rich by the time ur 18 if you save most of your money.

This is often overlooked, but the "carbon leather" in the E90 generation is actually a unique leather STAMPED with a carbon fiber pattern. You'll never see anything like it before or after. It's always either fake carbon fiber paint, plastic imitation, or on the opposite end, real carbon fiber. The fact they bothered to stamp the pattern to give it that unique aesthetic should tell all you need to know about BMW's attention to detail at the time.

@@ChewbaccaFetus the plastic junk I’m referring to are: Coolant expansion tanks (which explode), thermostats housings, water pump impellers, hose connectors and other parts in the cooling system. I’ve owned 3 of them and I’ve worked on them, stripped the engines out etc. They’re great fun to drive but have really weak quality parts.

I love the e90 m3. My friend who was a race instructor at Las Vegas exotic race way used to have one. I had a big turbo sti at the time and we used to mess around and swap cars all the time. His motor popped at 100k miles though due to the rod bearing issue.

I would love to see a generational review and TH take on the m3. Just cause it’s such an iconic brand and yea it’s been done a few times notably the one by everyday driver but id like it from a perspective of someone so passionate about M cars. Someone who owns one too! 🤞🏻🤞🏻

I have a (lightly modified) E92 M3, an R8 V10, and an F-Type R...and the M3 provides me just as much joy as the two cars making nearly 600HP. Absolute gem of a car.

Even though that 3.0L twin turbocharged straight 6 sounds fantastic, that 4.0L N/A V8 in the E90 M3 is just something else~~ That V8 just screamsss~~ That V8 and the 5.0L V10 in the E60 M5 were some of BMW's best engines~ The E46 and E90 M3s are two of my favourite M3s and both are my favourite 3 series. I've heard from many people that they love the E90 3 series.

The sedan or coupe? There was a hard top convertible too. 4 series wasn’t a thing yet. E46 had more aggression- less rounded more old style Bmw. If it had a v8 would have been a thing to remember.

The engine light is on, in the E90. Good to see nothings change with BMW

The E90 M3 (especially in that spec) is the best looking car ever made! Change my mind.

@@mpwrnyc Not in my opinion. Interlagos Blue is absolutely beautiful! Honestly, the pre-LCI is much better than the LCI Competition models. And I may be a little biased on this, but those 10 spoke wheels are the best!

@@mpwrnyc Those were actually the wheels I wanted on my car until I got a car with the 10 spokes. They're both great honestly! I do have a 335i, however, not an M3.

the e90 sounds so good

for the record, I don't mind the new grill of the M3/4, because the rest of the lines remind me of my grandma's pics when she was a young lass in the 40's. elegant and strong. i might have other issues, but watching James flex his biceps reminds me that others have deeper problems. cheers!
