I’m riding a size large C2 with Fox suspenders. At 5-9, I followed Norco’s recommendation with sizing and have no regrets. As plenty of people have said, the Ride Aligned suggestions are great starting points for settings. After bottoming out my fork on some medium sized hucks to flat, I popped in some tokens and feel good about it. Once I hit some rougher trails or jumps I’ll decide if I want to throw volume reducers into the shock. Bottom line, this is a sick, super stable and balanced bike. I don’t feel like the back end is too long. Sounds like Braap has a lot of issues with Norco, but he seems to be an outlier. The bike is dope.

Awesome review, will make sure to read it as well. Recently received my sight just days before a trip to Madeira. Tested out the megneg on that trip and even though I'm a fairly light rider, it simply made sense and performed beautifully! Oh yeah my rear rim lasted 2 days...

Such a rad bike - but doesn't make me feel the least bit bad about keeping my 2014 bike rolling along with piles of upgraded parts. I really like their ride customization approach, and look forward to seeing ways that can trickle down to other options (an Aluminum Optic with Fox Performance Elite suspension can smash a lot of things at a similar price point).

I have a nukeproof mega , similar bike , same suspension , and i went extra volume spacers in the rear

Looking at this bike slight A3 budget so basically you can ride a casual trail but if you want to hit the good stuff it’s there when you wanted ,,, did take one for a test ride nice

That's funny I run those same psi/ spacers measurements. Im 200lbs but others say it's to firm when they try my rig.

Bad dinks on that rim, did the same on an ethirteen then tried to just change the rim (DT ex471) as I wanted to keep the hub. I was way off centre when I finished so took it to the lbs to true up....time consuming job. I would go E1700s rather than M1700s even if they are heavier..

5:09; when I first got into mtb's I really really wish I would have known that. It drove me crazy trying to calculate the "psi loss" that I found out later didn't exsist at all. Thanks for the review. Bike looks badass. Norco is a cool company.

Just be VERY careful who you relay that to. Omg some people throw ALL logic out the window in regards to this and swear you lose pressure including reconnecting the shock pump and going 'I told you so' forgetting they just filled the shock pump hose AGAIN with air when they reconnected it. This includes quite a big youtuber too...

The parks were all closed by the time our Sigh showed up but it would absolutely crush it at a bike park.

a little over hype of a review, but i enjoyed it. One question tho, you said that norco did not suggest adding another space. their recomendation still left you with a number of unwanted bottom outs in the back, why would you not go with you instinct and try adding another spacer? or if you did what were the results.

Probably because they don't own the bike and Norco would not allow it. UPDATE: Ok, just checked a video on how to do it and yeah, it could have been done easily.

As someone from the metric system I struggle to know what is meant by being 5 9 tall. Is it 5ft 9in(175cm), or 5.9ft(181cm)?

You can't be serious..

But at 5’9” you’re supposed to be on a Large according to their Ride Aligned system. As a reviewer I would have been curious (and obligated) to take their suggestion and try it.

When test bikes are sent out, there are no size charts, we are typically just asked our reach preference. In this case, the medium was in line with all of the other bikes this tester has ridden.

Vital MTB yeah I agree and get it. Their suggestion is a major departure from what you’d think. I’m the same height and was considering the Sight which is why I’m pretty curious to see someone try their suggestions. The large is huge.

@@paulgiles7456 how is the bike works for you? I'm 5'8 (commented on the other OP) at first its huge big but now made few adjustments and I'm good now. Just need more riding hours with the bike. Large 27.5 i get if its a 29er that i think I can't ride anymore.

Im thinking of buying a norco sight in 3 years is it great for awesome turns i have a 11 phaser 3 And I like 26 in tires i need to save up for a norco sight i love norco mountain bikes

I have been looking at a sight, norco sizing has me at 5ft 9inch for a large. How was the medium and what was the reason to get it? Ps great review.

I was a bit surprised too that they rode M, while for 175cm, you should be on L. But once you check the geometry, this Norco in size M is not an usual M... it's already pretty long with 1222 wheelbase, 455 reach (L is whooping 485 which is probably really too much for 175cm). I guess I would go for M too, while I usually go with L as I like longer bikes, if they come with short enough seat tube (here bellow 400 which is really nice) and decent reach.

I'm 5'8 and went for a large. Bike is big I will have a lot of learning to do with my A1 sight.

*gives lecture about air coming out of pump and not shock whilst simultaneously forgetting to equalize the shock*

It's all preferance. How can anybody know what you prefer on your personal bicycle? All the stock numbers for me on suspension have me bottoming them out and make my bike feel like a damn waterbed floating down the trail. I weigh 135, I run pressures reccomended for people in the 185 range. . . to each their own. The suggested setups are just that. Suggestions.

It's one way to reduce the reach of a long front center bike. That's why people run short stems and tall bars on such bikes. You want the stability of a long wheelbase but a reach short enough to make handling less like a truck. It will take less body movement to weight the wheel that you want.

I've personally owned the A1 version of this bike and I have a slightly differing opinion on a lot of things. Firstly, the geometry is nice apart from the sky high bottom bracket but I came of a stumpy evo which I loved so I may just have a preference there. Steep seat tube angles are obviously amazing and as someone who has been slamming their saddle in the rails for years this is a relief. At 6" tall I got a large but would probably go a medium for a more nimble feel if I was to buy again which I wouldn't but I'll explain. Yes this is a capable bike, but not such that I would sacrifice maneuverability over the straight line stability you get with a larger size but again probably just a preference. Pedalling wise it is quite efficient thought my large A1 weighed 17kg with pedals, carbon bars and tubeless exo casing tyres- I run cushcore f/r with DD casing tyres so about 18kg without water and spares is just ridiculous. This made the bike feel like a pig even though it really isn't and I was 80kg and strong at the time so I can only imagine a lighter rider will definitely feel the weight. The frame as stated in the review is way too linear and the super deluxe shock doesn't do this bike justice. With 25% sag and the shock full of volume spacers I was bottoming out just jumping down 3 stairs. This bike is virtually unridable without a megneg if you're over 70kg and don't ride like a complete pussy, which is most people looking to buy a bike like this. For some reason I can't quite explain, I've experience a jackknifing sensation with the front end similar to a bike with a stem too long or a really steep head tube angle even though it's quite slack. I experienced the same feeling on my 2018 sight before I put a 160 44mm offset fork and -1.5 degree angle set in it. This solved the issue but as you can imagine raised the BB to a stupid height and ruined the cornering. The E13 wheels that come standard I swear are made of cheese and are the worst rims I've ever had on a bike and the same can be said for the 18t engagement hubs. I almost sent myself over the bars multiple times expecting chain tension only to have my cranks turn 90 degrees before anything happened. I've had experience with the above DTs and never had an issue and would actually recommend these as long as you use cushcore and appropriate tyre casings for your weight - anyone over 70kg should be on DD in my opinion. Value for spec is pretty good but I would 100% go for the fox suspension over the rockshocks. There is much more potential for tuning with the shock and a large negative spring straight off the bat as well as a bit off the price to spend on personal preference stuff, maybe some wheels and/or a grip 2 damper for the fork. Overall a decent bike but I personally didn't want to spend a lot more money trying to fix all of the issues stated above. I am now on a C2 optic and honestly a lot of the same issues come with this bike too. Mostly the frame, shock, wheels and brakes. This bike pedals terrible for a 125mm frame too. Unfortunately at this time rockshocks does not make a megneg in the size for the optic so I will be selling this bike too. For the people who like to argue that Norco has a better idea about what I like and what performs the best for their bikes just go have a look at the Bryn Aktinson ad for the optic. He's running a fox dpx2 on his bike and I can definitely see why. It's just got a more supportive air spring with a larger negative volume in this size. I think that sums it up. Ok bye.

Marlon Itram I think you could go either a small or a medium. The best thing you can do is test ride both sizes and see which one you like best

I was looking at this bike but after your review I think I’ll check this one off the list. Weighing 240 lbs it seems like I’ll have to fix too many things before I get it sorted out.

Just put bottomless tokens in fork and shock til it fits your needs and style of riding, i don't get the fuzz. That's why rockshox makes them so tunable 🙄

All mountain, ssshh don't you mean enduro be careful the bike industry might be listening. 🤫😂

Jesus. Really? Threaded bb's are more trouble than press fits. You mean to tell me you can't go to the hardware store, buy a piece of all thread, two nuts and two big washers to use as bb press? Cost total maybe 6 or 7 dollars. Smh at the ineptitude of mountainbike owners.

Ollie & Chub it is my opinion; the category for best all around enduro is the Scott Ransoms (all builds) best “nuke”-for the buck. And they pioneered the linkage I think too? nevertheless, dollar for dollar, PERFORMANCE, awesome, the builds are solid, the mold if you will...🙏🔑✌️

Ollie & Chub sure I would agree with that except for the linkage and pivot design of the Scott Ransom. Bullet proof. Mud and rock protection, heavy duty pivot bearings. Very little break in flex. NO COMPARISON to the “good value” brands. We’re talking apples and oranges here! Dollar for dollar considering durability and maintenance and high end user friendly components, The Scott Ransom is hard to beat for value and quality and ready to race, jump fun etc, Personal preference YES! At this level of interest, The Scott Ransom is clearly the best value for desert duty enduros...🙏🔑✌️

Can't justify spending $6k+ on a Norco. Great bikes, but there are better bikes out there for cheaper and better builds.

suggestions ? im in the market . i looked yesterday at a custom 2020 sight build with dvo shocks (4999) . i could only ride it around the block but it was feeling great.
