2020 Toyota Camry Hybrid Review: Watch This Before You Buy A PRIUS !!

This week I drove a 2020 Toyota Camry Hybrid... and well, I compared it to none other than the Prius! Of course, these cars are both made by Toyota, but I still wanted to see how the Camry Hybrid stacked up next to the Hybrid "it" car. What I found was that both the Prius and Camry set out to accomplish the same goal (ps they both succeed) it just happens that the Camry does it with more STYLE!!
What also helps is that this Camry happened to be the top of the line XLE trim, with a bunch of luxury oriented and tech goodies. Basically what I'm saying is, the Camry cost more and gets slightly less MPG's... but that it's all worth it for the LOOKS!!
With that said, the Camry was a delight to drive, and a comfortable cabin to spend some time in. All I really missed was a bit more sportiness, something I've become all too accustomed to. Oh ya, it did pretty well on the Tall Boy Test too :)

What is real world mixed mpg? Was getting 63.5 mpg in 17 prius 2. Super slow driving. I bet I could get 55 or 58 in a camry hybrid.

I think most people claim mid to high 40's mixed MPG, I'd imagine your numbers are possible with diligent highway driving 😎

I know this car is a few miles ago and different than this prius But if you drive a little bit slower and keep your speed below 65 you would probably get the same mileage as a prius of 70 or 75

Where Is the 2021 Toyota Camry Hybrid Built? Toyota builds the 2021 Camry Hybrid in Kentucky alongside the nonhybrid Camry.

I really don't care about the ascetic of a car. Functionality is way more important to me. I got a Prius, because it's a hatchback. That means I can load up a 9ft fishing rod and get better gas mileage on my fishing trips. I got a lot of 1 piece fishing rods that don't break down, so that's the main reason I passed on a camry. I'm also tall and the backseat of the Prius is more comfortable than the camry. I was definitely hitting the roof on the camry in the backseat. This review is very superficial: Headlights, wireless charger, "the looks," "the vibes," but none of that really means anything to a lot of people. A hybrid vibe? Going down a 13 mile dirt road to Apache Lake and sleeping in my Prius with the AC on all night in our triple digit heat summer is a "hybrid vibe" 🤌🏽💯 It's literally a mini RV and you simply can't do that in the camry. You can't convert it to a camper because it's not a hatchback. I agree a Prius is ugly, but IMO it's more versatile for folks like me who spend the majority of their free time camping, hiking, hunting, and fishing. It's cheaper, I actually fit in it as a tall guy, 51 mpg + if you drive slow, and you can live it up in the great outdoors. I quit my job during the pandemic to homeschool my kids and I took them on so many road trips to see state and national parks. Being able to do all that traveling with no job was a lot easier since the gas costs was minimal and the car itself could be used as a tent since it's a hatchback hybrid.
