I cannot wait for you to try the nap test in an LC. :D
I just bought one a little over a week ago. I understand reviewers drive lots of cars and performance and speed are always a big deal for reviewers, but not all car owners make that their first priority. For me, the selling features, were looks, quality, fuel economy and dang it's fun to drive - at least to me. My kids are grown, I don't carpool, heck I don't even need the back seat except for my 2 small dogs. And this thing is solid! Built to last with Toyota quality. I got the XLE by they way. I'm super happy with it! It's all in what you need and want.

Thanks to Joe at Welch's pumpkin patch for the awesome shots! welchs-pumpkin-patch.business.site/
And I personally find it awesome to have that gorgeous CH-R, yeah it’s a little slow but so what. Plus, it’s still fun little CUV. Very unique design.
Great review. And overall production on your review videos are looking really nice 👌🏽

at 8:23... the Toyota Taco almost made a sandwich with the CHR LOL!
Hi, Kirk! You've got it all in that review, including that "napability test" that gives you a real idea HOW SPACIOUS THE CARGO AREA REALLY IS (with the rear seats down) with something objective to compare. (..aaand almost as entertaining as Doug DeMuro trying to fit his 6'3" into a tiny sport car seat) I already gave you all a hint (in your "community teaser") of a 9.0s 0-60, which is what I'd expect of this engine / transmission combo (it is a "raised funky hatchback", what you'd expect?). For whatever European audience, this 9.1s (and the 10s other US media tend to peg) it is still faster than the 11.0s (like 11.3s for 0-100kph) EU version for a T-1.2L 3-pot they use there. Still, the CH-R could benefit from the +25hp from the Corolla's NA-2.0L (maybe on Limited only) WITHOUT AFFECTING FUEL COMPSUMPTION NUMBERS.
I like it👌🏼
Thumbs up for a good review, thumbs down for a boring crossover. That thing needs 200 HP to match its nice exterior.

The CH-R is so underestimated. If this had AWD and a sunroof sales would triple!
I love the review. I went at Toyota to do a test drive and I really like it. I was wondering if they fixed all the problems that the CHR had in past years, because it’s sucks to buy a new car and have to deal with lots of problems later :/ I will buy a car next year but I’m still thinking through about what to buy. I like different cars and I don’t have the need for space or anything. I was even thinking about the 2018 Smart Fortwo since we can’t buy a new one anymore (at least not the gas engine). The Kia Soul is very cool in my opinion as well but it doesn’t have leather seats :/ anyway. I’m still have lot of time to think and hopefully time will tell
The C-HR looks cute but I'm not quite ready to give up my RX350 (Luxury Package) for one. Just sayin...

How does this compare to a Lexus UX Kirk? When does UX refresh come out....2022? Sunroof avail in UX? I assume UX has quieter interior? Thx for reply!
@KirkKreifels

UX is nicer overall, especially in hybrid guise. Quieter and has sunroof. Refresh in 2022 hopefully.
The design is one of the best on the market
If they had the 2.0t from the NX300 with a 6 spd manual and make it the GR CH-R,. I'm in. Oh sunroof needed. Your thoughts?
@KirkKreifels
3 жыл бұрын
That would make it a GR C-HR. Rumors are pointing that way.
Got a brief drive before it in, felt as clausterphobic to drive. One of my friend is leasing a 2019 LE, and the only thing I liked about it was that it has Carplay. But definitely, it has the most personality for being quirky for being different compared to the other models.

When I first saw the diamond pattern on the ceiling I thought the headliner was starting to sag.
Interesting that INFINITI is using camo for a vehicle they have already unveiled. Also ironic that this vehicle is running around in production form and no production 400z has been seen testing on public roads. INFINITI/Nissan know that they need to bring a new QX60 out long before they can bring out a new Z. The Z will turn heads but the QX60 will make profit. Profit is what they need right now. My local INFINITI dealer only has a handful of new cars on their lot right now. They look like they could close up shop any day now. www.autoblog.com/2020/10/05/infiniti-qx60-production-version-spied/#slide-2268481
This was actually a good sn informative review, I wanted a C-HR , but the engine threw me off.
I like the design but make the headlights smaller pls

It's fine. And the black roof compliments all the black accents around the car.. Contrasts well with the Lava Orange! In the UK, it has the black 10-spoke tires to match, and better designed taillights integrated with a rear black spoiler - absolutely 🔥🔥🔥
Good chassis dissapointing powertrain just like Lexus UX and NX
In 2016 I was in the market for a hybrid. Everything was trending towards a Prius but was waiting patiently for the Kia Nero to come to the market and see how much it was. At the same time the new the the US CH-R was coming out and nearly all the coverage online and magazines expected it to be a hybrid. The CH-R would have been more affordable than the Niro and more capable than the Prius. Sadly Toyota gave us the gasoline model. Did they have to invent that specific one for the US market? I thought they are all supposed to be hybrids. And the one we got here is slow as stink, ranking in as such compared to similarly priced models of the same type. Pathetic. The hybrid models are actually much quicker and fun to drive. It’s is neat looking. I’ll always go for the styled cars over boring ones with no character no mater how polarizing it is. With the refresh they really should have changed the engine. The gasoline model has to go...but not the entire model itself.
@KirkKreifels

I hope they keep it but I have a feeling Toyota will scrap it here in North America for an Alabama built Corolla cross 🤔

The UK has the new 2.0L Hybrid powertrain.. 184hp! But can still get as high as ~66mpg in city (electric in use mostly) So fun to drive - the chassis is excellent
I’m in my 60’s & thinking about it- am conservative on color of vehicle😬. Do not care for a two tone car( roof one color & body another color) just not for me.

UX hybrid will be priced about $36k and better equipped (ventilated seats, heated steering wheel, sunroof, rear USBs, etc)...however, this model has foglights. You have to spend abour $38+ for hybrid F sport or Luxury UX to get foggies.
CVT? Good riddance, not even worth considering. I'd consider the hybrid but I'd always choose a Toyota hybrid over a Honda (mainly because Toyota has proven themselves in the hybrid space with 150k+ miles Prius's)
Sorry, if IT is not plug in hybrid (at least) for me is dead. In my opinion, buy new ICE car is just silly. Because, all new camping cars will have some of electrification and new ICE car after 5 years will have high depreciation. Maybe it won’t be in USA, but in Europe for sure
