2020 Ram 2500 - World’s most luxurious, innovative heavy-duty pickup?

Ram’s new 2500 offers an unmatched combination of capability and creature comforts.

Heavy Duty pickups like the 2020 Ram 2500 are flashier than light-duty trucks and monstrous in size, but their posture is serious. If your life requires the incredible capabilities of a truck like this, then I’d recommend you indulge in the Ram’s top-grade luxury, technology, and capability.
Compared to the chunky Chevrolet Silverado 2500 and the builder block Ford F-250 Super Duty, the Ram 2500 offers utter elegance. Soft-grained, perforated leather with elaborate stitch patterns adorns the seats, doors, and center console and covers the whole dash. Light wood trim with inlaid white lines, contrast piping, aluminum speaker covers, and a stunning beige and navy blue color combo had me hook, line, and sinker every time I hopped in.
The Ram 2500 offers two pairs of engines and transmissions in either rear-wheel drive (RWD) or 4-wheel drive (4WD) with an electronic low-range transfer case. The 6.4-liter Hemi V8 is a sweet-sounding brute, with 410 horsepower and 429 pound-feet of torque. Gasoline V8 trims carry the highest payloads-up to 4,380 pounds on RWD Regular cab models. Maximum towing capacity is 17,350 pounds for a RWD 2500 with the Regular cab.
I tested the diesel, which packs a 6.7-liter Cummins inline-six with a turbocharger the size of my head and a radiator fan the size of a home ceiling fan. It also packs 370 hp and 850 lb-ft of torque. In this configuration, the Ram 2500 can tow up to 19,780 pounds and up to 3,060 pounds of payload.

@@MerleUnchained I live in the north part of the country 3.5 months of snow. 2wd trucks are useless in the snow unless you have a lot of weight in bed and tire chains. So yes I agree. My comment was more about touch screens and sunroofs. To me a truck should be basic and reliable for work. All these extra electronics, Bells and whistles are just more things that WILL break. And gets a way from the purpose of truck

@@rememberthefallen1970 I disagree. Up north 4X4 isn’t just a off road thing. Winter comes and you will need 4wd a dozen times in 3 months. And due to that nobody wants a 2wd model north of Cincinnati.

Umm. If in the snow belt.....even then, maybe. Snow tires and or chains while putting a couple of hundred lbs in the bed solves most snow issues. 4 wheel drive can ad 500 lbs. That"s a lot. So why carry it year round? Obviously if u hit a lot of dirt roads or go off road then 100%. But for 95% of peeps 2 wheel drive with the winter ad ons is really a more practical (and money saving) way to go. Opinions vary. :)

Diesel is $239/gal where I live . I can tow my boat or equipment trailer with ease and peace of mind. Exhaust brake is a have to have option. You can engage it going down steep hills without riding your brakes or gearing down. I have a crew cab Tradesman that was loaded from the factory with heated seats, sliding rear window, rear sensors , rear camera . Very comfortable unless you get on bad roads and then it's a bucking bronco. Interstates and nice secondary roads very smooth ! Sticker on mine was $57k . Got $10k off . I want the limited in this color maximum steel . I will keep my 2500 for daily driving and the limited for trips. By the way they drive very well . If it's just your driveway get a cheap beater, if it's commercial use go for an Ford super duty with a gas engine. The front ends hold up better to the abuse from a plow and a diesel is unnecessary, the gas engine also does better in cold weather. Get a 2011+ for the locking rear differential which locks the two Axel shafts together to improve traction. I don't believe the ram offers that and the Chevy/GMC independent front suspension won't hold up as well.
