The funny thing is I know this is annoying but considering the incompetents of the electrician that installed my solar, I'm doing him a favour by rectifying all his mistakes that would have cost thousands worth of damage. The guy even contradicts the wiring that the manufacturer shows in an instructional video, he refuses to even watch a one minute video and rather is 10% sure the battery is faulty.

I’m pretty sure it’s written into most electrical codes that electricians aren’t permitted to touch brooms/dustpans, or operate shop vacs.

@@independentRestorationServices That's what the apprentice is for! Haha, I learned nothing about being an electrician in a year of being an apprentice; I learned how to dig a ditch and use a push broom like you woulldn't believe though!
I couldv’e stretched this out into a 3 week project easily.

Lol as a industrial electrician would have taken me 4 years we get paid to be plc programers, process controls, operators, high voltage, low voltage, ect.... Basically everything we're enifiecient as hell often lazy but we make money having to understand literally everything. From uglies to, knowing how to factory reset drives, to basically doing mechanics jobs.

We need more stuff like this. I notice that most younger people these days don't strive to be really good at their trade. They just want to do what is required of them to collect a paycheck.

I usually see concrete guys show up late and dink around for a couple hours before they even lift a finger. Then have their undies hang out while they trowel for a couple hours then hit the bar with the rest of the crew.

After rewiring my whole house, replacing 60 year old wires, through rusted pipes that where meant to carry only 1.5mm wires for lights; I have developed a respect and appreciation for electricians and contempt and disdain for people who don't follow CODE!!! 🤣🤣🤣 Loved this whole competition. Will be watching the next championship!!!

Always so frustrating seeing someone work like the code book doesn’t even exist. Some people spend their lives learning it’s intricacies and shitty contractors still go with un licensed electricians.

@@xuavrice2338 the code book has a lot of useless codes that are made by lobbyists outside of the nfpaa. Don’t get me wrong there are some really good codes that make total sense but there are others that just shouldn’t exist

Plus they’re doing residential things. Any Mexican could do their job faster. Lets have a competition where industrial work and maintenance is included. The « best » electrician isn’t whoever can bend some pvc and wire an electric plug 😂😂😂😂

When I worked in traffic signals, this is all we dealt with when pulling through existing underground shit...We would have to put a wire brush on a rope and pull it through....We would pull out rats nests, animal carcasses, random animal/human hair (???) and just random shit blocking all the pipes....Most of the time, we would just have to scrap it and get the excavator in to just run new pipe.....
I'm waiting for the librarian championship.

Library conventions actually do have competitions and they're pretty fun to watch! My favorite is the book cart races
This is something that you would see on the TV in a movie that took place in the 1960s but I love it

I’m from New York . My dads a master and this was so fun to watch ! We just finished installing a fire alarm system for a 13 story building . Our biggest job yet . Love this trade .

PVC conduit inside the walls? Also, on transformer challenge: "He is done!" - panel and transformer covers laying everywhere. That's for the owner to put back :)

Every tradesperson should have to compete in something like this and get a rating that they have to display so you know what level of quality you're getting
i dont know why this suddenly popped into my recommended but I'm enjoying it
I'd like to see one for mechanics without knowing the challenge until it's announced like; "And the challenge today is Subaru Forester 2005 head gasket, ready, go! They then uncover a tarp with all the replacement parts and have at it. Now that would be fun!

I been an electrician for 3 years now (started at 21) and all the older men doubted me from the start, thought I would quit. Earned they respect within a month and my body is BANGIN 🔥 Nah frl tho, I enjoy it. It's frustrating at times but overall it's fun and the freedom you have is better than any other job

I’m about to enter a industrial electrician apprenticeship, do industrial electricians and commercial/residential electricians get different journeyman licenses or is there just one test for all

@@mistanipples4958 I’m a first year apprentice I know In Ontario there’s a 309A and a 442 309 is resi and 442 is industrial it’s funny tho bc 309s can do both residential and factory I have 309s in my factory but I believe 442s can only do industrial

You know you’re a dad when you catch yourself watching a electrician competition
question for an electrician. we just bought a house, and our lights dim when the furnace kicks on. and in some occasions the whole house seems to drop for a sec every so often. enough to have to reset the clocks on microwave, range, ect. it happens frequently enough to be noticeable. not a huge deal but i'm having to reset my clocks at least 3 times a week. what's the deal? power company? or something going on in the wiring of the house?
