Lets keep in mind that we can get 4 CB500X 2019 for the price of only one BMW R1250GS Adventure 2019 with most options. CB500X are awesome, fun, reliable, light, versatile, nimble... bike for the streets, for twisty roads & for light off roads (dirt roads) without needing to brake the bank! Its not only for new riders; a lot of experimented riders also love it. You can commute & travel with it; no problem.

Can you really get 4 of them. Did you mean a R1250gs. These cb500x's are getting closer to £7k every year how much is the F1250gs ?

@@trekkydelirium-vroom5821 i think BMW seem to get a bad deal in Canadian prices. A f800gs was £8.8k uk. Vs $19.2k Canadian. Seems an awful lot more. Your wages don't seem to reflect the difference.

My apologies if its annoying you or others riders.

Tis a great little bike. Bought my 2017 version in April '18 and so far have clocked up around 38,000 miles, in the UK, US and Europe. Commute into London daily? No problem. Ride thousands of miles of dirt road across the US (TAT)? No problem. Spend a day green laning? No problem. Just does it all.

Great review! There seems to be quite a few owners who are complaining about buzzy bars at 60+mph. You can fix a shield but vibrations are difficult to get rid of. You mentioned it was super smooth while riding 70mph, so this seems to contradict quite a few riders in the CB 500X forums. I'm really interested in this bike but couldn't stand riding 12 hours a day with buzzing bars. Hopefully will be able to test one soon. Thx again.

Tim, how does it do on Green lane's? I'm looking at getting a 2019 one and might upgrade the front springs and stick something like tkc80 tyres on.. I wouldn't try the Welsh hills on it but u think it can handle semi hard green lane's? Lol semi hard

@@porter5877 It does fine on green lanes! Been out with the TRF and a couple other off road runs in groups, as well as by myself, and it does a surprisingly good job. The 'small' (17") front wheel can be a hindrance, but if you're going for a later model, with the 19" front wheel, you'll be fine.

Ideal for UK West Country roads. I bought one as a second bike to my Triumph T120, but I reckon I’ll be using the CBX more as it’s so practical, nimble and fun. Good for experienced riders like myself too. I bought a preloved 2019 with heater grips, crash bars, electric point and I also added a light Givi top box and centre stand. I am pleased with that choice. I agree with you assessment of wind noise (always a nuisance with windshields except the big RTs) and I’ve noticed a lot of riders add a small wind deflectors on top of their windshields. Yes a great bike. Thanks.

I have noticed a lot of bikes have quite low permitted carrying weights eg 700/900Tracer's at about 180kg. If shall we say you are "Big Boned " like me and want to carry a passenger, this rules out a lot of machines.

I test road this bike yesterday morning ( along with the 2017 kawasaki vulcan s 650) and MAAAAN....This bike's engine ...feel is SOOOO damn smooth and refined. Keep in mind though, I'm used to a single cylinder 286cc rebel 300 2017. So ANYTHING is an upgrade for me xD Kawi was awesome too though slightly more...."raw" I guess.

After 43 years of riding this is my first Honda and I love it .Great go anywhere bike, plenty of torque to potter around in a high gear and loves to rev when you want to get a move on. In fact I was so impressed with this engine I bought a 2019 cbr500r as well. Got two great bikes for what I was going to spend on one.

The rest of the world has the horn button on the bottom which makes it closer to your thumb for quick use. The Japanese made a mistake putting the horn above the turn signals, causing confusion until you get use to it. I have to always look down to where the horn is to use it on my Forza which is annoying and delaying sometimes. The placement really should be corrected.

Wow: Great upgrades on the CB500X 2019; i love it; Great Job Honda; i’m really tempted to upgrade my CB500X 2017; Honda: now please create a new version : a CB500X Adventure Sports ((kind of Rally Raid version; small Africa Twin; spokes wheels, inverted front forks, skid plate, hand guards, rear suspension with adjustable remote, engine guards, dual front brake discs, ABS switch on/off...)) & i will buy it to swap my CB500X 2017 for a CB500X Adventure Sports 2020. Or, let’s dream, i would also upgrade for a future new CB650X or for a smaller Africa Twin 700cc (my 2 dream bikes). By the way : CB500X are not only for new riders; i know a lot of experimented riders who ride CB500X (unbeatable value for the money).

The F is cheaper, more fun and handles better, and at least the wind is clean air, not turbulent and directed straight into your face like the X.

Hi all, first off to all the people who are saying they would swap or buy this if it has this or that or im too short , there is no stopping you because i am a very short rider 5;7 with an inside leg of 30-32 and i can tiptoe this bike. i did;nt like the older model so i waited til they released this 2019 model and love it ,im having Barkbusters put on this week and maybe get the rallyraid spoked wheels, but when i spoke with rallyraid they have to make a new version of the front wheel because of the hub. Now a question if anyone knows because rallyraid told me it could NOT be done and that is getting more power they said you cannot de-restrict this bike so i would love to know if it can be because IF it can this bike would then be THE ONLY bike you would need. So if anyone knows that you CAN DE-RESTRICT this model please let me know thanks ride safe SCOOBS.

With a 32 inch inseam you shouldn’t be tiptoe but flat footed , if your 30 or below than maybe yes. But i also believe that the seat on the newer model is also a bit narrower in the middle to help the rider reach more for the ground.

Chris Hart agreed but then it wouldn’t be the same price. I’m not likely to take it off road so the wheels are ideal and much easier to clean. The front suspension has some adjustment but I think it’s a good setup to start with anyway. There’s always the Rally Raid suspension if really needed.

  • @chrisredfield3240

    @chrisredfield3240

    5 жыл бұрын

@@Planet_Wax the rally raid stuff is amazing. Better suspension and longer travel, and those wire wheels really look the part. But it does come at a price. And on the older one if you just stick the 19" wheel in it's guaranteed to hit the radiator so the suspension upgrade is a must. At least the stuff is available though. I do wonder if one of the big 4 will offer a 500cc twin with wire wheels and usd forks. Maybe like a Yamaha T5. A2 licence friendly. I think a kawasaki 400x must come at some point.

A pleasant commentary but oh so lacking in important detail. For many of us things like the tank capacity and range are basic requirements and knowing that it is a full power bike made the constant comments to it being restricted cringeworthy. As a road tester you should be aware of why the 2019 model has been fitted with a 19 inch front wheel and the way that the screen has some adjustment. Little things but if you want your viewers to take you seriously do a bit of preparation so you sound as though you have some knowledge about what you are talking about.
