I also liked the white, but the red looks soo much better in person. The gear shifter DOES loosen up after a while. The electronic suspension is good. But the base suspension is still amazing. I'm not sure If it's all worth the extra price. It's just as fast, brakes just as well and handles the same. Oh and that stitching is the same as the base. If you have any questions, I'm a proud owner.

The AT is a superb bike, I love mine and use it everyday, just feels very analog compared to the 950S with all its electronic gizmos, do love the double quickshifter too! Problem is for me it would cost about 7k to upgrade to the 950S and it’s just not worth that much compared to the AT, I’m not sure what the difference in cost is between the AT SPORT and the 950S, only a test ride will show you which way to go, also I think the 950S has more character than my AT not sure compared to the AT sport as I’ve not ridden one, let me know how the test ride goes 👍

Informative and entertaining video as always, thanks. It does look good...and Italian machinery has character that Japanese or German just doesn't imo. If a bike is your mode of transport, then it's a tool, and probably best to go for a Honda or BMW. But if it's something to get pleasure from, for me it's a Ducati. Or MV. Or Aprilia. The Italian people instil passion into everything they do...just look at the food. Oh god the food! And no, I'm not Italian, but I love the country. I'm setting off to southern Italy tomorrow on my Supersport with my brother and a good pal. Weather looks crap every day but hay ho, it's better than work.

Isn't it time that manufacturers fixed the buffeting around the head? For me this is an important issue and would stop me from buying this bike. It can't be so difficult to design this out. The fix isn't just to swap out the screen either as I don't find that this usually works on adventure bikes.

Anything below 4000 rpm is almost lugging this bike. I was cringing a bunch of times when you were in 3rd gear, when you should have been in 2nd or 1st lol. It loves 4000rpm cruising around. Great review anyways. Also, the base 950 is a few grand less than an Africa twin. The suspension is still top notch. But if you can do without a colour display, electronic suspension and a blipper... the base 950 is the best adv bike you can buy for the money. It puts it in the same price range as a vstrom.

I asked the dealer if there was something wrong with this bike, or is this normal? He said it's part of the Ducati character. Yes, this stopped me short of buying the bike, even though every other aspect of it is brilliant. Why live with needless vibration? It's always going to annoy me. Have you tried the Tracer 900 GT? The Ducati has a few more features and most likely a little better build quality although likely not as reliable and cost of ownership will be much more for the Ducati. The Tracer is probably 90% or more of the Ducati for much less money overall. Love the Tracer.

This guy should ask what cost the services within 30 000 km in comparison to a Honda Afrika Twin, Yamaha Tracer 900 GT or a Triumph Tiger 1050. To the high price of the Ducati Multistrada 950S comes on top shocking high service costs I guess.

You preferred this over the 1260 then? I have a monster 1200 so I rode the multi 1260s today and I don't know, it was very fast and capable etc it just didn't rock my world. And I don't really know why!? Maybe it's the touring position or perhaps the skyhook sanitised the ride a little. I like the idea of having one bike rather than a cruiser and a roadster but for me it just felt like a very fast mile muncher. The more T7s and Africa twins I ride the more sense they seem to make on today's roads, I wonder if the 950s 19" wheel would iron out the pot holes. I green lane my Crf and I find I mostly ride all my bikes on the back lanes now.

I was a bit surprised by the 1260 the way all the press have been gushing about it...I even think I may have enjoyed myself more on a T700 I took out a few weeks ago. Go figure.

G-Man, you mentioned that you’re 5’7”, that you ride the (very tall) Africa Twin and that the seat height on the 950S is similar to your Honda. What is your inseam? Are you on the balls of both feet on the 950S when stopped? I’m trying to find a dealer who has the low seat on a 950S to test sit/ride because at 5’8” and a 29”-30” inseam I thought I’d be too short to have the balls of both of my feet on the ground. I would like that ability for confidence sake. Your comments now have me questioning my assumptions. Any insight on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks mate!

Back lit switchgear should be made mandatory on all bikes. No excuse for not having it given the numerous buttons to press and whizz wheels on modern bikes. Deal maker.

Just watched this back to back with your 1260 videos and it seems to me you have a habit of "over rationalizing" lesser performing bikes and end up with the cheaper, less capable, less desirable bike. The end result being you're never completely satisfied, are constantly rationalizing and making excuses for it and end up getting rid of it in short order. You did it with the CRF, and the Monster. I think whatever Multistrada you get it's going to take a substanial investment, so for once let's not quibble about the difference in cost between the 950 or the 1260 or the Pikes Peak. Just go for it! Reach for stars, get your dream bike, get the Pikes Peak and savour the thrill of riding it, the way it looks and just the pride of ownership. You know it looks better, none of this "I think it looks better in white or sparkly grey" Are you kidding me? It's a Ducati ffs, they always look awesome in red! Would love to see you on a Pikes Peak, that would throw a cat amongst the Pigeons.

I think ducati have shot themselves in the foot with the Multi 950, as apart from more power there is no reason to buy the 1260 Multi and the 950 looks way better too, would never go for a Pike’s peak as way prefer the Skyhook Suspension and whatever I end up with would be used everday too, I didn’t make a mistake buying the Monster 1200S as it’s a way more complete bike than the out dated R model, CRF was great to learn on but hit its limits off road very quickly, am preferring the off roading anyway and falling out of love with riding on the shit roads in the U.K. 😬

@@GMANS_BIKES_CARS I hear what you say about "usable power" but really who are you kidding? That extra power in the 1260 is the difference between a good bike and an awesome bike (the difference between a CRF and a 6Days) plus a single sided swing arm looks so much better. I like Monsters too but correct me if I'm wrong...one of the reasons you got that, and I'm paraphrasing from your first Monster vid, was Gaz already had the Superduke and you could have a go on that if you wanted, so you bought the Monster, still a great bike but you didn't get the bike you really wanted cos your "bro" already had it. Maybe I'm completely off and I mean no disrespect. I look forward to seeing the new bike reveal vid and counting the rationalizations.

mark dearing Beauty is in the eye of the beholder sir. I would 100% go for the white over red (as many people do) and I don’t particularly like the look of the Pikes Peak - I also think the PP version loses most of the touring capability of the standard Multi and as an all round bike I’d prefer to have the electric suspension. The power issue is a strange one though; I see your point but then I know what Grant is saying also. We all know you don’t NEED more than the 950 and it is a superb bike, plus personally I kind of like the idea of a bike that is fun to ride without doing ridiculous speed all the time (which is why I love my Triumph Street Triple R) BUT... when I test-rode a 950 I came away thinking “what a great bike”, but I didn’t yearn for it, where as when I test rode a BMW S1000XR it blew me away. Horses for courses. Ultimately though, everyone has different taste, ability and priorities, as long as you’re happy when you open the garage door and you enjoy riding it, who cares? Grant, if you do go for one I’d look into the wheel options... unless you’re going to take it off road (and let’s face it, why would you?!) the spoked wheels are absolutely pointless; I know they look nice but adding weight there is the last thing you want to do. I’d love to know why the 950 has a 19 inch front wheel across the board instead of a standard 17 inch. The 19 looks nicer but as a road bike (let’s not kid ourselves, hardly anyone is taking this off road) you’d think there would at least be an option for a 17 as it’s standard on the 1260. But if you do, make sure you get the white one! 😉

@@Mockle07 Well said sir! I know I probably went ott with the PP and I didn't think for one second that Grant would get it. I just like the idea of putting a cat amongst the pigeons. Sometimes I dispair at all the rationalizing. I like the old maxim "bite off more than you can chew and then chew like hell!" Be inspiring, not boring. Oh, and btw beauty is not "in the eye of the beholder" It's what I say it is! I have a blue&WHITE Husky TE300, a '98 blue&WHITE GSXR and an orange&WHITE Superduke, BOOM!
