Thor’s fans since 2018 have been saying “he’ll pull 501 this year!” And he hasn’t done it yet. I also strongly believe the elephant bar is easier to pull with as well due to the bend of the bar, meaning the weights don’t get off the floor until way late. Will he do it? Who knows.

He's an amazing deadlifter, no doubt, but I think otherwise he's extremely overrated. Incredibly overrated. He competed in 5 qualifiers for the ASC this year and only cracked top 5 once. That's actually really dangerous, when they try to push their limits that far. Sponsors of the event made nice "clickbait" with that 50k to one who pulls over 500kg, but all who isn't new here already knew, that he wouldn't do it. It's not a shame, he gave a good try, but that was just physically impossible. To pull 1105, he should start at least at around 1010, then add 50, and then another 50. With his unique physique, he could probably jump from 1010 straight to 1100, but 150lbs range in 3 moves is ridiculous, even for him. When you start at 955, then go for 1045, which is btw new world record, you cant just raise with another 60. And this is not in any meaning disrespecting Thor. No1 can do that, w/o big risk of getting serious trauma. That's why imo it's rly questionable to make that kind of prizes, that can only lead to injury.
