Yeah the cookie in the cobbler gives it just that little bit of crunch that you'd get with a crust you'd get from cooking it in a dutch oven. Definitely one of the better MREs I've had.

Had it two times and the pizza is quite good, but the cobbler is godlike. I grew up and still live in the southwest of Germany, so I know at least cobbler-ish stuff with apples. We call it "Ofenschlupfer" (oven crawler). Hot or cold with vanilla sauce and a little powdered sugar... hell yeah! Pizza and cobbler - one of the best MRE I ever had.

Years ago, when I was maybe 12 my best friend's father who was in the military, one day gave me like 20 MREs he didn't want anymore. I took them home and over the next few days, I ate them all. Maybe I should have reviewed them like you do.

Im not military nor did i serve but a lot of my family did, dad served in the air force, his dad served in the army, my moms dad served in the army, and my moms stepdad served in the navy, and my best friend also served in the navy.
