2017 MRE Chicken Burrito Bowl Meal Ready to Eat Review US Ration Taste Test

Ойын-сауық

Check out the newest MRE menu, Chicken Burrito Bowl. This one proves the sheer progress the Meal Ready to Eat has made in it's 36 years service time. Well everything except for that red Kool Aide stuff. That hasn't changed one bit.
Huge thanks to shop MRE Mountain for making this video happen. I was looking for the newest MRE, Chicken Burrito Bowl all year.
MRE Mountain is running a HUGE sale on US and International rations! mremountain.com/ Check out his shop and see for yourself. He has an amazing selection of stuff right now.

For those people, who wonder how the FRH (Flameless Ration Heater) works: Ration heaters generate heat in an electron-transfer process called an oxidation-reduction reaction. Water oxidizes magnesium metal, according to the following chemical reaction: Mg + 2H2O → Mg(OH)2 + H2 [+ heat].

This is the only MRE I've ever had and he's right, it was delicious! Way better than any frozen or pre-maid burrito you get in the supermarket. If MRE's weren't $20 a pop on line I'd stock up on chicken burrito bowls! Only down side was mine came with an apple turnover instead of a cinnamon bun (it looked exactly like the cinnamon bun) and it wasn't all that good.

Thanks for reminding me, I need to order a new case. My dad gave me a 12 count box when I moved out on my own, told me to hold onto it in case I ever hit hard times, and damn if he wasn't right about that. I lived off those twelve meals for about a month and a half when I was out of work, long enough to find a new gig and get some income flowing again. Seriously folks, never underestimate the value of having a box of MREs in the house, they may not be the tastiest thing you'll ever eat, but it's better than starving or begging for money from your family.

I tried this MRE out today, mine came with a trail mix vs the corn nuts. Honestly for an MRE, this one was actually really delicious, even the tortillas tasted completely normal, no funky chemical or odd after taste. I would easily take a few of these menu 16's with me on a backpack. And yes, heating up the cinnamon bun is the way to go!

Basically, if Steve thought it tastes good now, just imagine how good it tastes after 12 hours of no eating, and maybe throw in some rigorous exercise too.

I work in a factory building high-voltage power supply units. Basically those big metal boxes you see outside of buildings that supply electric power to the entire building. Lots of huge copper & silver cables and tons of tap-wires, breakers and neutral devices. Personally, my position is a wire-runner so I plug nearly hundred of wires into their terminals. It pays alright. Plus overtime is completely voluntary.

I wish we could enjoy mre’s like this during basic training. We had about 10 minutes to eat so there was no heating it up lol.

There are some pretty good ones out there believe it or not. A lot of them are complete ass, but for sure my favorite is the cheese tortellini. You get the best shit to trade out of it also, first strike bars and other good stuff.

Trading was the best part of MRE's. Personally i dislike the meat sticks that pop up on occasion. I always swapped them for something else. I miss the old school tobasco. The new stuff isnt as good.

My ex-husband was in the Marines in the early '80s, and would bring home leftover RMEs after maneuvers. They used to always have hot chocolate. It was the best! I really enjoyed some of the stuff out of the MREs.

I love this channel for the chance to see quintessential examples of each nations culinary tastes. As a Canadian I have enjoyed my fair share of IMPs and am always impressed how MREs seem so very... American.

I miss the MRE's that my dad gathered while I was a kid, they were soooo goood! I remember raiding them whenever I could!
