  • @2450logan

Jason Moyle it's called gear ratios hence short gears. Here's and example:Take a traditional LS1, a torque figure of 530Nm is quoted at the crank. If the Gearbox Ratio is 1:1, so we have 530Nm going into the diff, now if we have a diff ratio of 3.46:1 (this is a gear multiplication), we then have 1833Nm at the axles. And I don't know what mysterious ability you have to imply I have no knowledge about 4WD's or diesels but I will admit you made me laugh.

Viper Strike toyota should really put this v8 diesel in the sequoias and tundras. Atleast something to properly challenge the ford f250s and other american fullsize trucks when it comes to fuel efficiency during heavy towing or hauling. Not hating on toyota’s line of monster petrol V8s (4.6, 5.0, 5.7), but a proper diesel truck is just a no brainer for real-world work.

Brock Sinclair ahah. Nah man, where im from its actly the tax according to engine size. Now theres actual, draconian BS right there. The bigger the engine, the bigger the tax, regardless of horsepower/torque output. Imagine a bmw 5 series with a twin turbo 2.0 being taxed LOWER than a toyota pickup diesel with 3.0L engine. N the tax is exponential. The first 2000cc u probably pay under 200 dollars per year. But it gets stupid past that value. A 5.7 toyota V8 will be taxed close to $2000 per annum wtf.

It's certainly not something that will set the roads on fire although that diesel engine definitely has some impressive power and torque figures which I'm assuming would do brilliantly in a smaller SUV. But then again, this vehicle wasn't designed for drag races, it was built to tackle off-road and beaten paths, where 0-60 might not be the biggest factor.

Very weak for a 4.5 litre twin turbo v8

Cykoid have you actually driven one? They go plenty fast enough for what they are, if you are after a rocketship you are looking in the wrong place.

Cykoid really? On which computer game was that? They are designed as an understressed engine, there are many examples that have been tuned that produce a lot more grunt, but that is not really the point of buying a 200 series. You buy it for its off road capabilities, not to run quarter miles.

in real life, it is a piss weak slug, it has less power than a 12 year old non-turbocharged F series, this compared to the modern F series it has the same power than the base 3.0L V6 diesel, and in comparison to the powerstroke at 328kw and 1,254nm, this thing couldn't hold a candle even tuned

geez Rrez I am a 37 year old mechanic by trade, I have owned plenty of Toyota products and have driven cars that you have probably never heard of, so I suggest you don't project your own sad existence on to me.
