I disagree, I've daily driven an Evo X for 2 years and have never once had a problem with the ride. I drive around town, on the highway, and have even taken 3-6 hour trips in it with no problem. An Evo isn't about the ride, it's about the experience.

I picked up a used evo X MR 2008 for $23,000 canadian, no accidents, not a rebuild and 23,000 original miles. I've had it for 2 years now and I couldn't be happier! but cars like this are subjective, I like it for the technology and engineering that has gone into building this car. The Evo is meant to have fun in, not move your home! If you are looking for a nice practical car there is a whole class of vehicles dedicated for just that but if you are looking to have fun in a car that comes stock with 300hp, all wheel drive, "active yaw control" and SST clutch so you can corner like nothing else on the road and shift in a few tenths of a second you would be hard pressed to find something better! One last thing, this guy complained that the suspension was to hard, I think it could be a little stiffer for better road feel.

Bit hard on it weren't ya, personally i think it's a Beautiful car. I have a 2016 Lancer GTS as a daily driver and i love it., great suspension, great handling, great power, nice leather interior with all the extras and above all just a really nice looking car. The only thing i will say though is that i wouldn't pay over twice what i paid for mine for an EVO.

The most usable part of the trunk is accessible though, it also has no arms going into it to remove space like the Subaru has. You don't drive a car to sit and stare at the dash, you drive it! Lancer Evolution forever!

+Kazak Thranduil The boot's crap. But that's not why you buy an Evo! Plus, as I said, I found myself in a situation of having to move out of college one year and finding myself armed with an Evo X - it was possible. Just!

My final edition is just that, a weekend car and nothing is even kept in the trunk but after loading a camry/STi etc to the gills and I cant shut it due to the arms taking up inches of space. The Lancer platform also has plenty of interior room for the driver and passengers, as much as our camry.

I noticed you mentioned that the Evo isn't that comfortable because Mitsubishi focused more on traction rather than in comfort. If we do change the suspension (air suspension) to resolve our comfort issue, will it solve both worlds or it will trade off traction?

Good quick review. Could have gone over more of the FE differences. Didn't you guys get a little more power too. Ours has like extra 12hp over non FE . Our FE is rated 303hp rather than 291 hp as all other Evo 10's.

This is probably a necro post at this point, but I have a 2015 Evo X MR, I bought brand new in Dec of 2014. I've daily driven it since it rolled off the transport truck. At about 95K miles now, on my 3rd trans rebuild, 2nd engine, and 2nd turbo, couldn't be happier. I'm so sad they stopped making it, I don't know what imma do when I can no longer find parts for it. Its the most fun I've ever had driving, period. Every time something needs replacing I just use that as an opportunity to upgrade. Its now over 650 HP and over 550 TQ and just keeps getting faster and more responsive as the years roll on. I don't ever plan to buy or drive another car for as long as I live, if I can help it!

I took my '14 gsr from north dakota to Cali and back, driving ~10 hours a day. Pretty rough on my back but i survived. The bigger issue is the lack of a 6th gear- i had to keep it under 80 to maintain a consistent 22 mpg.

  • @brd4869
    @brd4869 Жыл бұрын

a little bit too late to comment but I’m giving my two cents. The EVO is an iconic car. HOWEVER, the only people who can appreciate it are the ones who knows its history. Especially considering its price point, a person who is looking for something that can be driven to work is better off buying other cars. Even a chinese brand looks better than this and more practical. You buy an EVO because you know what it is. a few years back, when I got my first paycheck, I wanted to buy an EVO but decided to wait. When my maturity sinked in a few months later, I realized a mid size truck was the better option. No regrets to this day.

Blitz Hacker So as I suspected it has a weak modding potential, as all new cars made with emissions in mind. The new cars have the turbo geometry made to deliver only low end torque and power, so it has no unlockable power, as the evo has, my evo gained at least 80 whp only from boltons, these new cars have very little room to improve. And these new awd systems suck, just put the in snow, and they don`t go anywhere.

I so want a white FE Evo. Not $53K here in the states but they are going for $43k without Nav package and $46K with Nav package. When I bought my 2006 STI new it was $32,500 with tax and tags out the door as end of year just before the 07's arrived on lots. An extra $10K with no increase in performance on the STI is just not really worth it. But the EVO STI has the hard core edge on the STI and the FE edition of EVO does give you the all black grill, interior (no Recaros here..boo), 2 pc front rotors and the struts and shocks from the MR on the FE. I so want one.

I got US0155. It's a Diamond White Final Edition and came with the engine appearance package which is just the front strut brace and intercooler pipe. I plan to add almost every factory option/accessory possible but am disappointed that they didn't go all out on the Final Editions. I understand the reason the US models don't come with the Recaro's but they should have set up some program for all 2015 Evo buyers to get the Recaro's. It'll probably be impossible to get the OEM red stitched Final Edition Recaros that JP, AU, and CA all got. Kind of sucks that the tilting/sliding power moon roof and Rockford Fosgate premium sound system isn't an option here in the US either.

Chasing Cars hi, in the USA the final edition does not come with recaro seats or BBS rims. Due to safety issues. I plan on getting into one soon.

So this is more expensive is Australia? That is where you from right. Final edition in states is $37K there abouts. Used a random converter which said that equals about $52k? I have a 2015 EVO not the Final edition because didn't know it was gonna go on sale here...FML. Someone in comments said no HID lights? I don't understand that because mine has HIDs. I would take no HID lights in a heartbeat to have the Recaro seats though....Stupid US one doesn't have them. On a side note I daily/commute in my EVO so i guess i am crazy haha. I don't find it uncomfortable lol.

Has nothing to do with a currency calculation error, it's probably import costs. For example, American muscle cars cost more in the UK and etc.

+Terry Hernandez Yep, we are in Australia and that's the Australia tax for you; most cars are sold at an inflated cost compared to the US, although they are usually specced with more options standard (like the Recaros that are a pretty big talking point on this thread).

I kinda agree with that, if you're gonna put out a "Final Edition" of one of your best sellers you might as well go ALL OUT. That's where Mitsubishi fails us today they're more worried about SUVs and Crossovers than a legitimate Fan base that'll boost their sales...

I use it as my daily driver. Keep in mind a couple things. 91 octane fuel .. mpg isn't 'great' on it. It does however work well in the snow (provided you have snowtires) .. even with all seasons you can deal with winter weather quite well. Maintenance on the car is a little high.. but no where near BMW territory. So yeah it is, but you'd have to like the car :)
