Had a 2003 Durango handed down to me by my grandma (she didn’t drive it often). I could take it thru nearly a foot of snow lmao Kept good care of it until it went to my younger sister who totaled it 😔

Just wanted to add since it's become such a popular comment: Yes the difference will be much more pronounced at higher RPMs since this car doesn't make peak power until 5200. I was curious to see if it built power below that point in a similar manner when de-tuned to 500hp, and it looks like it basically does. Also, I'm aware my flags are "wrong" lol. To me, it never looked right the other way (especially hated it on the uniform) so now I hang them wrong because I like to live on the edge! Thanks for watching!

If you were worried about wheel spin or breaking the speed limit too much., 3rd would have been a better gear for your "comparison" and let it get to the redline. Almost seems like you are too afraid of the car. to put it to a real test.

sometimes i binge watch your old vids, miss when you had the hellcat its what brought me to your channel, your still the only youtuber i look forward to watching everyday

I have a 2015 SRT 392 Charger. It's fast and I've managed low 4's to 60 MPH. My friends Hellcat can get below 4 seconds, about 1/2 second faster to 60. On the highway it's about the same with the Hellcat always about 1/2 second ahead. What you have to realize is this, both are fast, but half a second is significantly faster at this level. It takes a lot of power to make any car gain a few tenths. The fact that these big heavy comfortable Dodge cars are so quick is amazing.

I think the scat pack 392 is the right choice at the moment. If I was going to get a bigger go fast car, that's the one that interests me. I don't know what the bolt on guys have come up with, but there must be tons left in that engine.

+Street Speed 717 I believe it's because although it limits power to 500hp the engine still makes the same power to that point. Idk when the hellcat makes 500hp but say it's 4k RPM. Then engines will pull the same to that point then the red key will pull hard but it may only be from 65-80 and it still may not be making the full 707hp.... It would be hard to find a spot to do this but if you did it again with the engine in higher RPMs and went thru a couple gears I think you would see a big difference.

+Street Speed 717 well let's put it into perspective.. The 392 is close enough to 500 horse to round up.. On a good track close to sea level in an automatic car in good DA the 392's run low 12's... So 500 horse is not a slouch! :) I haven't watched any videos of a 392 vs. the Hellcat but now I'm curious to see how they stack up. I would think that if the Hellcat can launch without going up in a cloud of smoke, the HC should get off the line much quicker and from there, the 392 won't make up any ground. But from a roll like you tested it's not a massive difference, the longer the two run side by side the larger the gap will get for the HC.

Here are a few things that it does: • Engine limited to the lowest power output state (500 HP for the Hellcat) • Transmission locks out access to first gear and upshifts earlier than normal. • Traction, Steering, and Suspension are set to their STREET settings. • Steering wheel paddle shifters are disabled • The Drive Mode interface is not available. Pressing the SRT button on the touchscreen will display the unlock keypad. • The ESC Off button is disabled. • The Launch Control button is disabled.

Correct FvD&14. According to Chapter 1 of Title 4 of the United States Code (4 U.S.C. § 1) When displayed either horizontally or vertically against a wall, the union should be uppermost and to the flag’s own right, that is, to the observer’s left. When displayed in a window, the flag should be displayed in the same way, with the union or blue field to the left the observer in the street. If you're gonna display the flag, do it properly. There should be a green key that restricts the power to around 250-300. Or let you basically program a power level to each key. This way, it could actually become a grandma car or really ruin that valet's night.

You should've tested it at a pull from 4-5000 rpm, the red key isnt gonna have 700 hp at 2-5000 rpm, this test is pointless.

I think if you use the black key there's a valet mode programmed in the radio features, I have only heard about that and not seen it. if I remember right, the source where I saw it said it brings the car down to 150 HP

The car actually has a "valet" mode that doesn't let you make even a pound of boost on the blower. However you can still take it to 100+ mph and it doesn't limit rpms, not sure of the point in it. Good video though! I honestly threw my black key in a drawer and haven't touched it since I got the car, it was good to see someone try this lol. BTW just noticed youre over 16k subs now, congrats man. I remember subscribing back in the 2k days haha

Why can't you've just kept the key with you? Is there a certain distance away the key fob has to be for you to start the car with the other key? (sorry for my bad understanding, I'm new to this concept)

Valet mode is under the srt pages settings or something. I think you set up a pin number to access and turn on the valet mode where it limits the horsepower to 300 and also limits the rpms to a small certain amount. It basically prevents anyone from going past a certain, slow speed. I figure they give people the black key to help them ease into the red once since 500hp is more manageable than 707hp considering most people haven't been behind the wheel of such a powerful car. Knowing most people they probably don't fiddle and get used to the 500hp and jump straight into driving around with 707hp at their feet lol

+Daniel Collins watch Jay Leno's Garage Jay talks about that with the Dodge Engineer. It makes no difference in gas mileage. It all comes down to your 'foot' (if you go heavy with the throttle or not)

iv seen videos of people doing similar tests to this but they took it to red line and with the red key they couldn't get the car to produce the full 707hp they could only get it up to about 590-600..just wondering if you managed to get the full 707

That was kool... My Mustang has 2 keys also, one that limit it to only 80 mph and keeps the radio volume to only half sound, one that has unlimited mph

Whats the main purpose for the different keys? Why not just have the 707 HP come standard on all car keys?

I wonder how much of a difference you would feel on a lap of a road course if you compared lap times, you would still turn in a respectable time but the difference might be more noticeable. I also know as a parent if I was to give my son the keys to the car I know which key I would give him until he turns 18.

I have a scat pack charger, my brother has a HC Challenger, we race all the time..and its amazing how CLOSE these cars are...he usually can't hook the HC in the manual in each gear change and the 8 speed auto is epic in the charger...he is definitely faster but it only crawls away and we are both going way over 100 by this point

you mentioned valet drivers. I'm pretty sure there is a "valet mode" that limits speed to 30mph. you should do a test demonstrating that as well!

you should do a 0-60 test with the red key then at 500 with the red key, then the black key to see the difference and if there's a difference between the black key and red key at 500

Cummins Or Nothin Because they have had the reputation in the past for making shitty automobiles...especally in the 90s. That is up for debate of course. Its the same reason why people hate Chevy or Ford. But, no...they're not too cool for me. I said that the Challenger and the Charger are badass. the GA State Patrol as well as local police use the Charger. I've talked to them about it and they all say they're a beast. Some depts have the supercharged versions? A V10 or something? I really dont know, but they're not plain ass stock Chargers.

the test you did for the most part is a good measure of torque, not so much hp until higher revs. I'd be interested in knowing how much the torque output is limited between the two keys.

is there a key that let's you know what a huge mistake you made by getting commercial white!?

I'm not at all sure of how this thing is tuned from the factory, but, I have a theory here. I would guess that by limiting the car to 500 horsepower, that power will mostly be chopped off of the top of the rev range. Meaning, you're still going to have very similar torque and horsepower in the low ranges like you had on this test. The acceleration only really seemed the same until the second half when the rpm really started climbing into the high horsepower range. I think it would be interesting to see this test done in a lower gear, such as a 0-60 test or something of that sort.

If you want an easy way to get close to your garage wall, hang a tennis ball on a string from the ceiling that touches the windshield when the front of your car is close to the wall of the garage. :)

Like you said, I really don't understand having two separate keys with such a small difference in power. If it were for valet purposes you would think it would limit it to something like 300HP such as a v6 mustang and/or limit the rev limit so it doesn't allow for the power band.

+Adam Hickman Yeah the Z06, which is a lot faster than the hellcat, only has one key, and it has a valet mode that doesn't restrict power but does let you enable the PDR system, including camera and all telemetry, so it records everything that's done in the car in valet mode. I really don't see a need for two keys.

It would be cool if they could have the black key dial it down to like 160 or something so if some one lends the car to their kid, or lets a valet park it for them they won't have all the insane power

My 93 mustang gt I bought new in 94 I put a race bearing S-Trim in with cog drive and it had 510 H.P. at the wheels and when I jumped on it, it was a fucking horror show it was a 5 speed too! 2 5/8 Steeda headers into a 2 1/2 H pipe and 2 1/2 inch flow masters and it literally screamed! A lot of cars where running the same set up but none sounded like mine. But I had aluminum edelbrock heads that where ported and polished from them blue printed everything and gasket matched it all. Then I had these guys custom build a one off sheet polished aluminum intake. Car was retarded it did a 10:58@ 128 at epping New Hampshire New England Drag Way with me driving and I still was going side ways when I banged 4th gear. Car was awesome some car collector old guy bought from me.

FCA should have made the black key either a valet key which limits speed to 30mph, or a key that limits hp to ~300.

Just wanted to say that the black key is programable. You can knock the power all the way to 300 horsepower. Anyway between 300 to 500.

The Mpg would be interesting with the red/black key ...

Was traction control turned off? I’m sure the car is going ape shit with either key and traction control is holding it back more than anything. Without T control you’d feel that 207 hp difference

I think most people have never been in over 400,with an even smaller amount actually experiencing 1/4 times under 13,seconds. We're talking most drivers in general, not most drivers watching performance car vids on KZread.

I had went to a dealer to test drive a hellcat charger and they had gave us the black key. 😩😩
