@@OzMechanics Are the dealers shop not trained to “diagnose with a scope” like you do? This is why I LOVE your channel. Plus you got the job and I’m sure, a new customer. Experience and knowledge pays off. Congrats. I’m in Pearland but don’t have a scope. If I need someone for CAN issues or other things that need a scope, I’m definitely gonna come to you. Peace

@@steveedwards1072 some journeyman techs usually are, but they don’t always get the car. Most of the time it goes to a lower level tech who just throws parts at it

Good job on the diagnosis
well that was a crazy one. thanks for sharing.
I had the EXACT same set of issues with my 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit (Diesel) Dealership had no clue since the codes came and went Ended up just going through and replacing the power steering pump like in the video with a remanufactured one from AutoZone and it fixed everything! Saved me THOUSANDS of dollars Thank you so much!!

same here, i have been chasing this for 1,5 years. my power steering works, but I do get the entire cluster lighting up.
As Bernie Thompson teaches scope ground always on negative battery terminal 🙏

Amazing diagnosis talent
Excellent diagnosis and repair, Oz. It's so sad this is the state of todays dealers, they ran off all the seasoned techs for low cost newbes, dealer save money in service department but loose all the smart customers. Reason for new car warranties getting longer, to make up for loss of customer base.
Thanks for you vidéo 👍

Great video. Exact same problem I’m having. When replacing the power steering pump did you have to reprogram?
Great diag sir.cheers

Thanks Suhail. Glad you enjoyed the video
Was this plug and play or did you need to clear codes or "program" the pump for the canbus?
Thought electric power steering had no pump or fluid. Great video 👍 👍
@OzMechanics

Some don’t have fluid. But dodge came out with the electric power steering motor. Think Chrysler 300 were the first
Good job

Not sure if it would show any difference. As you say can would work at some times and go bad at others. Need to try it out next time
This exact, exact thing happen to me! All the same things but it caused my trans to stop shifting. Did the same thing with my buddy’s altel to find the issues after disconnecting all the units it’s abs, shifter, and then finally the pump we found it
@wimsurf
7 күн бұрын
man i seem to have the same!, I get codes first, and then if it stays like that it stops shifting and says service transmission, then I turn it off, and back on, and it is gone, sometimes for weeks.. i first thought it was water related, as after a rainshower it would occur straight on start. was it the electric pump with yours??
@andrewkwsk

@@wimsurf yeah dude it was the pump. Found a used one for $100 bucks and changed it myself. Disconnect the pump in the front from the harness connector and see what it does. If it goes away it’s the pump

CAN HACKER MAY BE useful in this case, 👍 good job
Will a leaking rack and pinion cause that connector to get soaked?
Do you have to program the pump? Or just plug and play?
How did you flush the power steering fluid?
I'm about to swap my electric-hydraullic power steering in my 2012 charger to hydraulic , but I want to know how to cancelthr sensor
My Jeep has some crazy issues. The car drives fine, no engine, shifting, or steering issues. However, my sat nav used to say I was in Moscow, now with the engine running it just goes blank, no heated seats, no ac, no radio, no bluetooth, windows dont open, mirrors dont fold, nothing. Turn the engine off, I can open the windows, fold the mirrors, uconnect lights up ( still says im in Moscow, I'm in the UK). No heated seats, no working ac, or fans, demisters etc. I start the engine uconnect goes blank, windows and mirrors don't work, dashboard shows airbag light staying on, blind spot alert not working/disabled, alarm goes off randomly. Ive fitted a new tipms and had the battery tested, it is fine. Any ideas gratefully received

Man let me tell you I’ve had my 2014 grand Cherokee for around 2 years nothing but electric probables only way I can get my car too start is too bang on the passenger side middle consel because either wise the keys won’t work tsm not responding car completely dead…. And half the time when I’m driving the car literally shifts into neutral and my entire dash lights up and wind wipers go on and service shifter can’t shift into drive car julting then as I bang on that spot everthing goes back too normal shops can’t tell me what the deal is
