2014 Dodge Charger Road and Track 5.7 - Routine Oil Change - Under 60k Miles

Rather than a super detailed video on known issues I decided to film changing the oil on my Daily car. I bought this car new in December of 2013. My first NEW car. Over my 8 years of ownership I have put on just shy of 60k miles. Its a fun car for sure!
Pretty easy job if you have a 5.7 Hemi. Just be ready to remove the guard on the bottom which is 4 10MM bolts. To remove the Oil Pan bolt its a 13 MM bolt. the filter is easily accessible as well.
Torque specs for oil drain bolt : 9ft.lbs (105 in.lbs)
Oil Capacity and type :
7 Quarts with filter
Mobil1 5w-20 full syntethic is my preferred
MO-899 preferred
I will probably have a few more videos for this car as I catch up on a few issues it has. I don't drive it much so I have left it neglected.

How often should I be changing my oil in my 2012 Charger R/T?

I think the manual will say 10k or 1 year if it’s full synthetic . I usually stick to 5k with full synthetic. Rather do it too much than not enough.

If the motor is new it’s common to have very fine metal as it breaks in . Any other case if you are changing oil regularly I wouldn’t expect you to see any metal . It sounds like maybe a bearing is starting to wear . Thing about seeing little metal is it could go 1 mile or 10 thousand . How many miles do you have now ?

@@JustFixinGarage 200k on a pursuit charger. Always maintained, and kept up on oil changes. No issues! But the other day, i had the wrong oil (5w20 synthetic blend) inserted into my car, it ran okay for about 4 hours & around the 6th hr. I started dealing with the problem, of a knock. I usually use 5w20 full penn synthetic. There’s jus small flakes
