@@chakas03agreed…you would think this day and age, there would be a more simplified solution to add CarPlay…there are the aftermarket options, though not ideal…as a Canadian, the head unit for my 2016 Cherokee Trailhawk with the 8.4 screen worked out to be $3700 cnd. Then there would be almost $500 in tax and at this price…probably Duty and whatever shipping fees 😱..I mean that would be pushing upwards $4.2k …just to get Apple/Android Car Play ..yikes! Unfortunately, with even the links they provided…don’t see a cheaper option with them…there doesn’t seem to be a module and maybe change out the USB port for ACP..that I could find anyway. Ford …you just need to buy the $50 USB port which is easily swapped out with a couple of screws. For some reason Jeep just seems to be Uber expensive….So unless I pick up an aftermarket APC adapter…I am just going to do without, thankfully my factory already has nav and 8.4” screen

I went with a car pride but now after watching this I need to find a new jeep at the junkyard atleast grab the USB device I have the 8.4 uav the the 3rd best I guess? But 2015 jeep so imq assume if I just get the USB hub I can use Android auto

We don't sell harnessing or parts seperately. We would need to do with the full kit with us as there is programming and custom harnessing that is needed. Extracting parts from damaged vehicles and not reporgramming them has a very high failure rate as the radios and vehicles typically need to be married to each other to avoid lingering issues.

You don’t need to program anything you just want to sell people shit.. wait 24 hours and all options should be there. Only thing you need is a harness for some 2014 to 2015 vehicles if you want to keep heated or vented seats.

Dude it’s 2600$ for the UAV. That’s nuts. Actually stupid high price for that. I’d rather did through a junkyard a find one than pay that. Better yet I could buy 20 cheap ones that will probably break over a year on eBay than buy something like that. Wild

We do not sell cheap equipment. We sell OEM quality equipment that is fully tested, pre-programmed and procured based on your Vin. There are plenty of companies that sell cheap products. We want to provide a part that we are able to guarantee works and will continue to work. We are confident enough in the product we sell that we are able to warranty it through installation and up to two years depending on your selection at check out. We feel our pricing is competitive as we are comparing our pieces to the cost of getting a new vehicle as opposed the cost of an aftermarket part whose quality is greatly inferior.

Yeah, I already have the 8.4 with Nav, so looks like I would be paying $3700cnd to get Apple CarPlay…same low res screen…at least the Grand Cherokee $500 US cheaper and get the higher res screen…the pricing appears extreme…if you’re just needing the CarPlay…there are other options. Too bad they didn’t offer a more reasonable solution to those who just need the CarPlay…but that kind of 💰💰💰 hard to justify 1/3 of the cars value 🤔

Thanks for the video! I almost bought a UAQ unit thinking my 2019 had that (since they're both 8.4 inch). Is there any way to just get a screen for the UAV model? My screen (as is a great deal of other people's) is beginning to delaminate. Thankfully there aren't any ghost touches still, but it looks pretty ugly and bothers me... I'd hate to have to pay $2.5K+ when all I need is a screen that I could find for $120 if it were the UAQ model :(

For the UAV does the media change come with? I have a 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee, would I have to replace the charging ports too??

You do have to replace the USB Media hub to get Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. However, we include everything you will need in the kit so that will not need to be purchased seperately. Hey quick question. I purchased a upgraded UAV unit on eBay for my 2016 Jeep GC and installed over the weekend - bought the media usb hub as well. Obviously, I didn't go the full kit route you offer but I did buy the display wiring harness from your site. Everything works fine however when I power off the vehicle the screen goes black/blank and I can't get it back. The only way to get the screen back is to disconnect the battery, but every time I turn off the car the screen goes black again. Any tips you can provide here? Could programming be the issue?

So we don't typically sell that harness seperately so if you did get one it must have been in error. We only support the full kit. We have no way to assess what is wrong as the pieces you have did not go through our 20 point inspection so we have no way to verify that they are correct parts or that they have not been damaged. We would recommend returning everything and going with the full kit or selling some of those pieces back to us using our trade-in program and going with the full kit. UAQ retains heated & cooled seats, steering wheel heater, mirror dimmer, and SRT pages? I have a 2015 GC SRT.

Do you guys know if the Panasonic unit's have finally been resolved of their screen delamination issues? I'd hate to spend a bunch of money to upgrade my RA4 to a UAQ only to have the screen fail on me like so many others. Since it's not a factory radio for my year, and my Jeep is imported anyway I wouldn't be able to undergo the replacement through UConnect.

A lot of these components are no longer manufactured by the MOPAR factories. So we have an experienced team of technicians that recondition these units with new parts. Any kind of historical issues with the hardware are addressed by our team. The UAQ units in particular are notorious for their delaminating screens, which we replace with a second generation factory screen that does not have those issues.

Hello, writing to infotainment regarding UAVs for 14-15 models, they inform that the radio does not work in this model year, it's not true! , they just don't know how to do it, I bought a UAV unit, I sent it to the USA to the right person who can do it and the radio works perfectly on my 14 Summit

The UAV would only be compatible with 2016-2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee. 2014-2015 models would qualify for the UAQ, which offers similar features.

Looks like you went with the aftermarket option. This package is a completely factory OEM plug and play upgrade package.

I have a factory 8.4 inch display, and for whatever reason, after nine years, the navigation has stopped working. Thoughts on that? 2015 KL.

Interesting, the radio was replaced under warranty a month ago, worked for two weeks, then didn't work. I did another software update today, and now it is working again. Time will tell for how long. I'll keep you in mind. @@Infotainment_nav

Unfortunately after further testing we found that "Currently the 2014 and 2015 Grand Cherokees are not compatible. We hope to offer a custom solution to get this upgrade working properly in those two model years." We are still working on a solution.

That cable is only shipped as part of our full kit to upgrade to UAV. Unfortunately this is an older video we produced in 2020. After much tested we have found that this is not compatible with 2014-2015 vehicles and compatiblity now starts at 2016 on our site. We had issues that we have not found solutions for yet for the 2014-2015 vehicles
