I went to my local Jeep dealership today where i purchased my 2015 Jeep Cherokee and they told me that I would not be able to upgrade to this system for some odd reason. I was just wondering, even with what they said, can I still upgrade if I go this route? (I'm going to go back and show them this information)

shawn washington Hi I was told the same thing by Chrysler, just call Mopar and they will call your local Jeep Chrysler Dodge dealer and run the instructions to them to activate your radio all they will do is put it into dealer mode and then put in the 4digit anti theft code

If you drive a Jeep Cherokee (This also applies to the Jeep Compass, Jeep Renegade and Chrysler 200) then the vehicle's computer is FIAT based programming, and not Powernet like the other vehicles capable to be factory with the 8.4" systems. If you EVER change the radio out in those specific vehicles, then you have to have a proxi alignment performed by the dealership. Apparently the vehicle needs to be forced to accept the radio, even if you replace the radio with the exact same part number. This might be what you need to do to get those working. However, if you happen to be driving a Powernet vehicle, like a RAM, Grand Cherokee (anything not mentioned earlier) you likely just need this. This will not work for the Cherokee (Nor the other FIAT based vehicles) however. infotainment.com/shop/interior-accessories/wiring/c-int4ck/

Yes that is required for all Compass and Cherokee radios. Only those two models require the proxy alignment.
