Bought my 2017 Cherokee FWD 2.4L new. It has been the best car I have ever owned. Zero problems, zero defects. Ride and handling are great, as is fuel economy and fit and finish. I have had none of the problems mentioned in this video. I would buy another in a heartbeat.

2016 jeep Cherokee trailhawk 2.4 engine. It has 80k miles and has been on multiple trips from LA to Colorado or utah. The only issue i had was the oil consumption but it was fixed after a recall and they also replaced my catalytic converter under warranty. Its been good to me and i also off-road and go snowboarding and desert riding.

2017 Trailhawk with the 3.2l. only major issue i had was water leaking into the cab from the seams inside the cowl because the seam sealer had cracked. I had to take apart the whole passenger side to let the interior dry and find the leak.

I have a 2019 Cherokee Limited and have had it since it was brand new. I also have a love, hate relationship with it. It has 85,000 miles on it and have had to issues with it. First issue was the oil cooler/oil filter housing. Apparently it has been a weak point on the V6 for years. Since the housing is mostly plastic and is subjected to a lot of heat being its buried in the center of the motor. They part usually cracks or warps. My unit was fine, but there are several ports on the bottom of the part where it mounts. They use black o rings to mate the part to the engine and those 5 cent o rings failed, they were flattened. So had the oil leak which fills the center valley of the V6. Since the unit has to be removed to repair the issue, I replaced the unit with a new one. Cost of the repair was about $1100.00. My second issue was the failure of the PTU unit at 59850 miles, lucky it happened with in the 60.000 mile warranty. I do not do any off road driving, only street use and the occasional snow storm. Dealer stated it was a weak part on the Cherokee and they replace them often. If it occurred after the warranty expired dealer stated it would have cost approximately $2500.00. I do love the Cherokee. It gives you a great ride, comfortable interior, it is a good overall vehicle. Just do not think I should have had those failures based on my vehicles mileage.

I own a 2015 2.4L cherokee and a 2016 3.6L cherokee no drastic issues with them. the 2016 had water getting into the passenger floor. I just took off the wheel well cover and put RTV in ever section that I could see where I would think water can get in and it fixed the problem. so besides that and having to deal with taking the 2015 to the dealer for the recalls no other issues.

I had the issue recently too. My leak was from the seam inside the cowl and the a pillar. Theres a FCA bulletin on how to do the repairs for those leaks. I did both sides since the driver side is harder to take apart

I have 6 autos, this is the worst for as reliability. Others are Honda and Toyota so I guess I shouldn’t compare. They make it complicated to fix and ZF transmission takes too much just to change fluid

I have a 2016 cherokee 75 year edition v6 i bought used at 100k miles. No problems until i reached 130k. now at 138k miles. In the last year ive had to replace the engine $5500 and the oil filter housing $850. I had multiple cylinder misfires and a garbage manifold, cheaper to replace than rebuild. The oil filter is plastic not aluminum which will crack if some lube tech over torques. Im now replacing the PTU a second time, luckily under a recall so i dont have to pay. Terrible transmission that hard shifts up and down hill. I still owe more than what its worth at this point😭

yeah I wouldn't buy a used car with 100K miles on it. you don't know how well the previous owner(s) took care of it. I bought both of mine used, but one had 62K miles and the other one had 50K miles and both had records of the owners taking them to the dealership for all their services in the carfax. I wanted to get a 4WD one, but couldn't find a used one in the color and the options I wanted. good thing because all I hear is about people having issues with their ptus.

Why does my 2018 Lattitude have an obvious rattle in the front end. I bought new. Mechanic and I can't find it. Looked at body parts and replaced sway bar end links. Didn't need it. (Were tight anyway.) Never off road it. low milage. 56K now. Wifes car. We love it otherwise.

if not suspension related then maybe its brake chatter from the caliper, pins or pads moving in the anti rattle clips. gotta check it and clean it grease it and or replace . a constant rattle could be many things axle or front lower ball joints.

Hi, there! Sorry to hear about the rattle in your Latitude. Those pesky noises can be quite mysterious at times, right? Since you've checked the sway bar end links and other usual suspects, you might want to check: - the bolts, - bushings, - suspension components (again), - examine heat shields and engine mounts as well (they can sometimes be the source of the problem). Hang in there, and hopefully you'll have that rattle resolved soon!

Have a 2010 Grand Cherokee and I always have problems with the panic button activating on its own while driving as well as service light turning on and off with no mechanical reason. Anyone else have had issues like these? Also if it gets too hot , which it does since I live in the low desert, my ac/radio screen will shut off.

I have both the 2015 and 2016 models one with the 4 cylinder and the V6 and I only change the oil when it says poor in the oil quality in the dash and I haven't had any issues besides having to take one of them to the dealership for the recalls that I didn't really need. in the 4 cylinder one I had to change all 3 of mounts in January and the dealership told me about the sway bar links having the rubber boot ripped, so I just changed them last month as well, but those are just normal wear and tear from the car being almost 9 years old.
