Yeah they spent some time dialing in that note. As an owner of this car, I can say it’s intoxicating
I remember when this came out we all complained (it’s ugly, whatever, etc) now in today’s world full of cars which all look the same and have no sound. Now it’s an absolute gem. We didn’t know what we had at the time.

Almost 6k rpm clutch dump, now that is a launch control!

I've never seen a car rev so high for a launch control, and I LOVE IT I love Porsche's launch control system, they always rev so high ( like a GT3, GT4, 911)

Has to be this high, otherwise the car wouldnt have enough torque to get going

@@mjvdr And? A 540D has 700 Nm with 150 hp less. It's a NA V8, the power and torque is in the high revs, hence why they set the LC at 6k. Otherwise it would be much slower off the line

@@enfantterrible4868 Yeah it creates more POWER in high rpms indeed. But it creates max torque at 3500 rpm, so the high rpm LC isn't because of torque. Higher rpm clutch dumps are almost always better as there is usually more power available, the limiting factor is most often the grip. As you need to be able to transfer such high crank rpms to the ground

Not my favorite year for the body style, but that V8 is an absolute jewel. I remember spec'ing one out a few years ago, determined to get the V8 and a relatively nice trim package. Holy cow, the options list is _extensive_ to say the least! I was only half way down the list and the base price had already gotten to 194k! At which point, I had to have a chill-out moment and trim some fat.😁

@@Daumex Das sind alles abgeranzte Vorfacelift Schimmelbuden für um die 30k. Facelift mit unter 150tkm von Händler kosten die billigsten knapp unter 50k. Alles andere kannst du vergessen. Wer sich nen Vorfacelift Panamera GTS mit 180tkm und 20 Vorbesitzer für 30k kauft hat komplett die Kontrolle über sein Leben verloren.

Drove this thing some years ago, still remember the amazing sound, but it was bit slower until 200 against my A8 4.0 TFSI. But the sound..... Never forget.

I also have the 970 but a 4S, it has a custom exhaust and my god does this girl growl. Absolutely EPIC. German muscle exotic

I own exactly the same and its just no comparison between this and the new one. Good naturally aspirated V8 sound can't be replaced by anything!

Because they all use the turbocharged EA825 V8 now, the same engine thats in all V8 Audi RS models and the Lamborghini Urus.
