    Fully loaded for 9 day camping trip. From Louisiana to North Carolina and back. Approx. 2,300 miles (with mountain riding). Averaged 65.5 mpg. Ran 70 - 75 mph coming home on the interstate in a head wind or the mileage would have been better. Did 660 miles one day. This is an all-around GREAT bike!

    I just bought a new old stock 2012. 6 feet tall and I'm flat footed on it. It's got a really low center of gravity, it's very easy to ride. The trunk in the front is handy. I keep my helmet and gloves in it and I've picked up things at the store and dropped them in it. I got an 8 pack of Bud tall boys on the way home today and it fit in there nicely... It's not an SS bike by any means, but it has grunt, it's torquey, it revs low, but you can ride it all day at 3000 rpm(redline is 7000). You can coast to 2000 before you need to downshift. Riding position is comfortable, it's agile, it's easy to ride. It makes a great starter bike or a commuter, or just a sensible yet fun bike.

    I was just thinking that it's to bad the bike has a 5 spd trans but Mic here says it's a 6 spd, that's good. Other things is the gas tank is a little to small it should hold a gallon more. Put exhaust & some mods on it to get the power up for better performance & this would be a good choice for commuting & day trips with your girl. Needs a rack too.

    I have this bike. 0-60mph in 5.2 secs but top out is about 110-115mph. We actually call it a frunk (front trunk)-it has 21L of storage. I get approx. 70mpg doing 65-70mph on the interstate. LCOG. Not really light weight-430+lbs but it is low. Traded in my 2009 BMW G650gs for my 2013 NC700x, the Honda is a better deal!!!

  • @davidleoncampbell
    @davidleoncampbell10 жыл бұрын

    The model is a NC700x but the engine is a 670cc. Honda is now selling a NC750X in Europe; however, the engine is 730cc-not sold in the US for 2014 and may not be in 2015

    That gas cap location sucks... If you want to use that space for gear, it means everything has to be taken off every time you fill it.

  • @denmikseb

  • @ylism
    @ylism10 жыл бұрын

    Ok bike. But do you know what you're selling ? fyi it has a 6 speed transmission, and the motor size is 670cc, not 700 cc as honda says, that is misleading on honda's part. The mpg is not that great if they only get 50 to 60 mpg, a 2 gen sv650 will get that, and it has 72+hp, well at least mine would, so would my vulcan en500 ltd, more like 70+ mpg, they make about the same power too. A decent bike it would make, just takes some getting use to, with redline in the 6 K range. With a honda spec seat height of 32.7 inches, it's a little on the tall side for some, that can fixed too, let the air out of the tires. Would not recommending riding like that though.

    Conservative riders report up to 70 mpg. That might be a Canadian gallon though. It's bigger...sorry my Yankee Doodler Friends but some things are bigger in Canada. My ST1300 routinely returns up to 50 mpg on an easy throttle. Just sayin'...

  • @ylism

    @ylism

    10 жыл бұрын

    stevest1300 When I want to know the average fuel use of a bike, I use Fuelly.com for mpg, and it shows the country's they are from. I went off what he & other magazine reviewers have said in the past, that it was common to get around 50 to 60 mpg, I think he said 65 mpg ? witch is lower on average, for the most, than what Honda says it's rated @ 64 mpg EPA. Fuelly says the US bikes get as good as the rest of the world, if they are averaged out, and yes I know there is a Imperial gallon used by many, like Canada and it is larger than a US gallon, and usually cost more too. The other times I was talking about my 2 current bikes mpg, yes I know it's confusing. lol BTW 50 mpg is great on your ST1300. Yes your winter is much larger then mine, so I agree with you, that some things are bigger / larger / longer, mostly winter time. Ride safe when you can. lol yl

    TOO MUCH PLASTIC! This bike is probably expensive to drop. If you go down at 25 mph, the whole speedometer- headlight assembly will shatter! I went down once on SV650, and once on Shadow VLX -- some cosmetic damage and the bikes were ridable. I think I'll buy a GLADIUS!!
