I have been working on cars since my grandfather could beat the concept in my head, so I’ve changed countless pairs of pads. That being said, never have I used these silicones or anti seizes for brakes. Last night I changed my friend’s Civic’s pads as a kind gesture, and utilizing these lubricants made such a world of difference in installation alone! Never too late to learn something new! Thanks for the video and insight!

You don't have to use silicone or any other paste for the sliding pins. It depends where you live. In dusty countries that silicone will gum up with dust in time and actually slow down your caliper in engaging/retreating after you press/release the brake. You can see the dirty pins in this video too. Just clean them thoroughly if you live in such place.

Not only is your video easy to follow, you also gave us the torque specs in the description. Often times people post videos but some of us don't know the torque specs or are not aware that something like brake line bolt could have a torque spec. So thank you so much for that :)

Excellent tutorial. Thanks for not adding annoying music. One suggestion: you don't have to disconnect the brake hose. Just hang the piston assembly by a string or bungy so it doesn't stress the hose. This saves having to bleed the brake line after reassembly.
