Excellent video,,, no talking,,,, no weird music,,, Just plain work,,, good job
I have been working on cars since my grandfather could beat the concept in my head, so I’ve changed countless pairs of pads. That being said, never have I used these silicones or anti seizes for brakes. Last night I changed my friend’s Civic’s pads as a kind gesture, and utilizing these lubricants made such a world of difference in installation alone! Never too late to learn something new! Thanks for the video and insight!

You don't have to use silicone or any other paste for the sliding pins. It depends where you live. In dusty countries that silicone will gum up with dust in time and actually slow down your caliper in engaging/retreating after you press/release the brake. You can see the dirty pins in this video too. Just clean them thoroughly if you live in such place.
Good vid ................ right to work without telling everyone the history of brakes. Good camera work, thanks for sharing. Parts list was a plus!
Not only is your video easy to follow, you also gave us the torque specs in the description. Often times people post videos but some of us don't know the torque specs or are not aware that something like brake line bolt could have a torque spec. So thank you so much for that :)
Moral of the story: Never pay a shop $350 bucks for a brake job.

Used this video yesterday for my first(ever)brake pad replacement on my 2015 Civic LX. Well thought out and clear directions. Made the job significantly stress free and fun. Thank you-looking forward to doing the rear pads in the Fall.

Did you have to bleed the brakes? I’m looking forward to doing my brake today. Just not to sure if I need to bleed them as well
Excellent video! I'm almost at 70k on my 2015 and i am now starting to hear my brakes squeak. I'm looking forward to replacing my pads thanks to you.
Great job. Thanks. Very quiet and peaceful video compared to most videos heavy with trance and techno music.
Thanks a lot for this video man! I finally changed my own brake pads and rotors on my 2015 Honda civic thanks to your video. Cheers!
Excellent tutorial. Thanks for not adding annoying music. One suggestion: you don't have to disconnect the brake hose. Just hang the piston assembly by a string or bungy so it doesn't stress the hose. This saves having to bleed the brake line after reassembly.
Thank you for this cause my brakes started to make noise yesterday so I'm sure its time for a change. Keep up the great work!
Very good video. Very clear & the best part is that the camera is not moving all the place like most other videos. You just helped a lot of people to save $$$$$$$$$$$$$$
500% what i needed. thanks so much for the video and not talking through it. Also your 1200 BC shoes at the end almost made me choke.

Have to replace the starter on my fit, decided to do it my self. Since I’ll save by not taking it to a mechanic. Decided to change the break pads too. Thank you for your video 🙌🏼
Super easy to follow for a complete beginner like me. Thanks for the vid bro
I changed my brakes pads and rotors today. Very helpful video. Thanks for sharing.
AWESOME video. Used it today, felt like a man! Never paying for a brake change again.
Probably the best DIY video I've seen on KZread. 👍👍👍
Excellent demo! Just one added step.. take off the brake fluid cap before starting the job to let out air bleed out

How did everything go? I’m hitting the shop first thing to get brake lube and anti seize (northeast) to give it a shot
Great video. One suggestion though - try using cutips for applying the grease and such.
Deserves an award for this video.
You make that look so easy. Thank you sir.
Very helpful video-well done-thanks for including torque specs and links to parts. Wife just got estimate of $350 pads only replacement . Been awhile since I bothered wrenching. Thinking it’s time she gives it a try-we can work together.

Nice little video, but i would suggest everytime you replace the brake pads to go ahead and replace the hardware also. It will keep new brakes from squealing. Most of the better quality brakes you buy come with them anyway.

Thanks for sharing the video. I just have a question: is it ok to get a little anti seize paste on the surface of pads? thanks

Almost impossible to clean it off if you get it on the pad surface lol Just wipe it off the best you can, don't use any cleaners.

When pushing the piston back in should the brake fluid resovior be open?
@MrRangerZr1
6 жыл бұрын
Good idea to open it, don't leave it open for too long though. Watch the brake fluid level as your compressing the piston.
So I had to drive the car before I came back to thank you lol just incase I didn't make it back home, lmfao thank you bro saved me some cash
Thank you!
Hi, i love your channel and its really helpful. I own 2015 honda civic ex and wondering if i can replace my rocker panel instead of fixing big dent on it? Would i be able to take rocker panel off because i asked my mechanic and he said he couldn’t take whole thing off as it looks attached.

@MrRangerZr1

civic12 honda yes. I use nothing but akebono pads. Low brake dust and best performance.
Great Video man. Keep it up. Same car I have with much less rust than mine xD
So glad it's an open piston not the bolt head ones.
@MrRangerZr1

The rear has the bolt head piston.
Thank you for the video! If I can do it anybody can do it!
Thank you for answering why my brakes are squeaking after new rotors and pads. I forgot to put anti-seize on the slider plates - so I’m guessing the pads are not releasing from the rotor causing constant contact and subsequent noise.
@MrRangerZr1

Yes moving parts should have lubrication on it
Hey don’t you need to bleed the piston when pushing it back?. I’m trying to do my brakes I never done it before thanks.
@MrRangerZr1

Not necessarily. Just check the brake reservoir level as your pushing the piston in.
