    I would put some light thread lock on the caliper bracket, and also make sure you always grease the backing plate on the brake pads for even wearing 👌😎

    My comment is hopefully constructive critisicm.... I mean no disrespect. 95% of pads come with new hardware, the only ones I've not gotten hardware included with were really cheap "crappy" pads..... Also spraying fluid film on the hub would prevent future rust... when you lubed the pins, pressing the pin in and pulling the boots back releases any air trapped (will lock up the brakes over time)....the clips always wear out with the pads so you should always replace them when you replace the brakes. Applying lube under the clips then installing the clips will prevent the pads from ever seizing... never "match up" your new brakes with the orientation of the old... the squealer tab always always faces the inside, on the "leading" edge of the rotor (The first point of contact)... this will cause the brakes to squeal in reverse when your brakes start to wear out instead of forward movement. I was a professional for 10 years, and all of my vehicles have had brakes last 6-7 years. I hope this helps!!! :)

    Thanks for the advice! I matched up due to what was there already thinking it was factory. I don’t typically lube up the tabs as factory doesn’t and concerned about brake dust contaminating the grease causing it to build up and seize. But always great to see different solutions to the same problem. Cheers!

    @@KickNitOschool you do not Have to, but it will prevent the cap from poping off and possibly damaging the cap. Me personally, I always un screw the cap and leave it sit loose, afterward I flip the cap, push the rubber down flat and reinstall. After the brakes are done, and the brakes are working. Before you move.. you know what I mean?

    Question: there are two different types of caliper pins. One has rubber grommets and the other doesn’t. I’m hearing the pins w/ the grommets go on top for the front brakes and bottom for the rear brakes. Can you give me a answer?

  • @MobileCarMechanic

    @MobileCarMechanic

    From my experience that has been the case. Helps with vibrations as well as evening out the movement of the caliper so it doesn’t bind.

  • @hemiboy374

    @hemiboy374

    Жыл бұрын

    @ G T ........ So the brand of brakes does not matter in this case. What matters is the type of material of the pads. Ceramic brakes are quiet, and depending on your habits, a little film. Metallic are noisy with no dust. Semi-metallic are quiet until they reach about 1/2 or 1/3 of their life and will start making noise as they wear down, and start leaving brake dust. I hope this helps!

    Should you also replace the clips?

  • @MobileCarMechanic

    @MobileCarMechanic

    You can if it’s heavily corroded and or causing the pads to bind. In our case our pads didn’t come with them and cleaning the clips using brake cleaner got all the dirt off.

  • @hemiboy374

    @hemiboy374

    Жыл бұрын

    Yes. Always replace the clips. They are also a wear item in the braking system. If you look closely at yours, there will be a thin wear line where the pads have slid during each braking application. Over time they will thin out by .0001 of an inch, if you multiply that, it adds up
