2011 Lexus GS350 AWD Review, Walkaround, Exhaust, & Test Drive

Like us on Facebook @ / 2redline Bridging the gap between the too-small Lexus IS and too-large Lexus LS, the Lexus GS offers an appealing blend of luxury, comfort, and space. Although an older design does lead to some dated technology interfaces, you can't deny this models incredibly plush ride, smooth-revving engine, and high-quality cabin. Just be sure you aren't the kind of driver that likes some sport with their luxury, as the GS is strictly just a luxury sedan here.

My moms 07 v6 Camry has 220k and it pulls like the day she bought did. Toyota/Lexus are one hundred percent, the best cars money can buy.

I showed a 2005/2006 model to my friend and he didn’t believe it was an 05, he thought either 2010 or 2009 lol.
I live in Germany and took this car over a German premium car (but the GS460 V8 since GS350 is not available here). This is as fast as German V8 of equivalent power, full options, very comfortable but a looooot cheaper in maintenance, even in Germany. The value depreciation is about the same. No German car is as reliable as the GS.
this is very under rated car! One of the best in its luxury class!
Have had a 2010 gs350 for almost 6 years now and this thing is amazing! Not one complaint. Bought it with 80,000 miles on it and have 125,000 on it now, still going strong! We have the AWD version and it’s a tank in the snow here up north. I never want to get rid of this car. I have a 2011 Nissan maxima full loaded with only 71,000 miles on it. The Mrs and I usually take her car (Lexus) to keep my miles low as possible. Both are paid off and definitely don’t want another car pmt anytime soon
I've owned my 2006 GS300 for 12 years and it's a wonderful all around ride. Very nice.....
It might be a little bit boring because of its soft nature, but I really want one just because the look of it. This car looks beautiful IMO.

***** That's nice, you're lucky to own such a gorgeous car. :) It's a shame that is always gets forgotten on the internet, and IRL also, cause everybody prefers BMWs or Audis. I also don't like the fact that the 4th generation is not half as good looking as this one. Although its back doesn't look bad, the front is just completely ugly, mainly on the facelifted version. Yep, it's also a good point that it's a "Toyota". I'm thinking of getting one after finishing university, but that's quite far. This is one of my 3 favourite cars.

The look of this car can really look old but once you reach the right age, around 25ish, it starts to look really good. It has a fast back design with the swooping roof. Looks very rich. The new GS looks really good too but I prefer this model years interior.
Gs is bulletproof and will outlast any other in its class and keep its value.

I think tht also
I don't understand why everyone wants every car to feel like a racecar that makes them want to go faster. Why would anyone want a daily driver non-sports car to feel sporty if you're not taking it to the track every weekend? If you're just going from point A to point B and you have to sit in traffic why wouldn't you want something as comfortable and isolating as possible? I would never sit in traffic and think "darn I wish I brought my V8 Mustang, the personality of that car would make this so much more enjoyable..."
This car isn't over teched on the inside. A car is to driven and not a cell phone with wheels.
I’m looking at getting a used one, thank you!

very nice review, thank you sir!
It's definitely better all around with RWD along with the 18" wheels and Z rated 245/40 tires. It's still no sports car obviously, but with the extra couple of hundred pounds taken off, along with the two sized wider z rated tires, along with the optional adaptive/adjustable suspension that comes in the GS 460, the GS 350 rwd holds it's own and definitely drives a bit more sporty versus the awd model. I recently bought a fully loaded 2011 Lexus GS 350 RWD with under 40k miles on it, and I couldn't be happier with this car!

I bought one of theses in 2020 as a work car with 170k miles for $5500. Bought from a 1 owner CA guy drove from LA to sacramento weekly. Put some BC coilovers, 19s on it and installed a tesla screen with carplay. $9k all in. It drives brand new. Super quiet and great gas mileage for the power. Had a BMW years ago and it was a never-ending maintenance pit. Other than oil changes and changing the brake pads once, I've had absolutely no issues with this car despite it now having 219kmiles now. Flawless car.

Drove the GS300 for 4 years when it first came out and now regretting selling it. Awesome car! Sad that lexus no longer includes the GS class in its lineup.
forgotten is very accurate. You see much less of these than say an LS or ES. the 1 st gen models are especially rare. But overall theres not much to complain about. Great review.
The design of this vehicle is somewhat forgettable? This GS was probably the best looking of all 4 generations even though I have a soft spot for the Ital designed 1st gen. The L finesse design of this car is one classy design.

Actually sofyan, toyota/ lexus smart key system is designed to give added convenience. So locking the car requires a push of the button on the handle, but unlocking only requires a simple grab of the handle.
Reliability and resale value 👌🏿
Still Beautiful
The ES is roughly the same size as this car but it is a FWD platform based on the Toyota Avalon now. The old one was essentially a fancy Camry. The two cars are designed to appeal to a different spectrum of buyers... and the ES is cheaper as well.
can you do a review on the updated GS350
I have a 450h with RWD and I live in a northern state. I have no problem driving rwd as long as I have winter tires installed.

The ES is a different line completely and more like a luxury Camry. The IS, GS and LS are the three levels of the same lineage. So no correction needed, he was right.
You didn't put it in sport mode when you were testing the acceleration and cornering. Its much more fun to drive in my opinion in sport mode.

These were the best looking Lexus GSs made. Good video! But I'm curious, in the beginning when you talked about the trim levels for this car you forgot to mention GS330. I'm so confused because the only 2006 models I have seen were 330s and I have never seen a 300 in this body style. My cousin has a 06 RX330 and I believe they used the 330 badge across the lineup of V6 cars lexus made.

They only used 330 on the ES models. 2006 Lexus had the GS300 which changed to a GS350 in 2007 and beyond.
Is power mode essentially sport mode?
Review an ls 460
The 3GS is a nice car, but the 4GS is just awesome.
My GS’s dash squeaks in cold weather. There’s a fix with felt dampers, but Lexus refused to fix it.
Why is the rear bumper paint not matching the rest of the body??

I had this car and although I have not driven BMWs and Mercedes, I can say that this car has been the best car I've ever driven. I've taken corners on snow covered roads at high speeds on an 06 GS300 and the car just grips the road. The car is probably the most fun car at it's size. I sold the car because my family was growing, but I will definitely buy this car again. I can't wait.
BMW, Mercedes, Infiniti will never last as this Lexus.
Why was this model released a year later in the USA than the UK? Thought it would be the other way around if anything.
