Tip for at 19:54 when putting the plastic piece on the filter to drain it. It fits nicely in an empty bottle of soda container so I put it in there before pushing it onto the filter...prevents any oil from making a mess on me.

I am tired of paying really high price and waiting an hour for oil change. Gonna try it this weekend. It's not brain surgery.

not trying to sound negative, but this is the most difficult oil change I have ever seen. I like to work on all my cars, but just the fact that you have to take the skid plate off every freaking time that will completely kill the motivation.

Great video. It is a shave that the skid plate is so awkward to remove. I wish they would have made a trap door for the filter to eliminate the need to remove it.

Could you please make a diy how to change transmission fluid change. I think you're great at explaining what tools and material you are using. I could use the video to change my own fluids on the truck

Good video. I should point out that in Canada, Tundras come stock with 0W20 full synthetic oil. Do the American Tundras come with something different?

+ERIC DAVIS Thanks for you question Eric. I did buy the oil and filter from a famous North American Box store. However, the filter wrench came from my neighborhood Auto Part Store. In the video I do show the part number and brand of the wrench if that would help. Most auto parts and auto tool suppliers will have this for sale. I do believe that even some repair manuals will have a part number in their lists for the wrench if you need a reference for you search. Good Luck and Thanks.

Own a 2010 Sequoia with the same engine in it. Seriously recommend that you run a higher viscosity graded oil for better high heat and high RPM protection, 20 weight oil is great for fuel economy but only that.

+Jack Daniels Good morning and thanks for you question. Please be advised that this video is a generic representation of a typical oil change and inspection and is not meant to replace or imply total accuracy for all the engine variations Toyota may have for the Tundra. Having said that, the best advise I can give you is first to check your engine code sticker locate under your engine cover (Hood). Some of the V8 and V6 engines have conventional oil filter and not the canister style shown in the video. Any parts store should be able to guide you to the right oil filter and how much oil is needed. Thanks and Good Luck. PS I am doing OIL CHANGE Number 2 TODAY. Wish ME Luck.....!!!!

+Anthony Borghi Thanks for you comment. I have a bit of a story to tell. After reading your comment I spent the next few minutes laughing. Not at you or anyone else for that matter. But it brought back a memory from when I was racing. We built a car and in that Race Car we put in an oil gauge. That gauge was not very big and as a driver I never really paid that much attention to it. As time went on no matter how hard I tried to pay attention to the gauge while racing I never could; Mainly, because I was busy with driving the car fast and that was a handful. We invested a lot of money and time into to cars we raced so in order not to have a very expencive motor explode we dicided to put in a" DUMMY LIGHT". It was huge, red and would turn on when to oil pressure would go bellow a certain level. It was mounted right next to the oil gauge. After that I never had to look at the gauge, just wait for the light to come on. Funny its the same for the oil reset, but unlike the "DUMMY LIGHT" I never really needed one on any one of my daily drivers. This TUNDRA has NO oil reset and because I have time to check when my next oil change is I never really need it any way. Sorry for the long answer "NO".PS I hope you enjoy my story and your TRUCK.

Key ON (don't start engine). Go to trip "A". Key OFF. Press and hold RESET button and turn Key ON. Hold RESET during count down "_ _ _ _ _" to " _ " and when Trip "A" reappears: Key off. You're done. :D
