Have the same vehicle (06 tdi sunflower yellow tdi manual) and do not have the notch for the dipstick in the radiator core support. Leads me to believe that it has had front end damage before as that is mostl likely explaination for the 5 cylinder engine core support being used as so likely the bumper damage from poor repair and not replacing when repairing the priior front end damage

Interesting!!! I did notice the notch too!!! I did not see any accidents other than the rear fender on the carfax but u make a good point! I did look at the pictures and it wasn’t broken when I went to see it. They broke it moving it with forklift. It’s not bad though :)

I like the look of the car the exterior and interior looks really clean. I know the diesel engines are some of VWs best engines. I just wonder with 160k on the engine once you restore it how much will a vehicle like this be worth?

That Beetle has a DSG transmission!! (Direct Shift Gearbox) or Dual Clutch trans. Quick shifts!!

It did! I had NEVER seen one in a bug! But apparently once warm, it would have issues shifting… per the previous owner. Sooo yeah

@@jkrebuilt I see. Do a service on it. Not cheap but worth it. Either never been changed or they didnt use the right fluid. Needs special fluid for the dual clutch. FCP Euro has the kit pretty reasonable.

@@BobbysBackyardAutoworks I sold it 🤭 The engine or turbo were gone. It was blowing exhaust through the intake lol and nothing out the actual exhaust in the back lol

@@BobbysBackyardAutoworks very, in fact it started… every time after I figured out why it wouldn’t. When I sold it, guy asked if it at least started and said YES,… tried to start it and NADA. It would not start lol sold it at a minimum loss

One of the guys in our shop was an Audi/Porsche/VW tech that worked on a lot of deisel stuff. If you guys need any help, lemme know and I'll get with him. Get codes if you can.

Thank you!!!! Can’t even get codes, battery is dead dead dead. I’m working now but left battery on trickle charger. Idk how long it was left without turning on because battery isn’t that okd

@@jkrebuilt Diesels need a lot of amperage to kick over. If that battery doen't come back, make sure to get one with a high CCA and preferably an AGM (they hold a charge better and last longer.

I just got a touareg from iaai for $750.from title max...but im a new dealer..what to look for on iaai..is it cool to buy from dealers on there..

@@loprice9607 congrats on the Touareg!!! I love IAAI, however I would not knowingly buy from a dealer at IAAI myself… yet I got this bug from Peddle soooooo…. 😂-they’re like a clunker dealer…

The 6 speed DSG wet clutch is very miss understood it needs 40k miles fluid changes and the dmf Should be changed around 150k miles along with the clutch pack around 200k miles
