Right??!!! I didn’t think of opening the engine bay, I should’ve but at least I have it running! Geez. Poor Ferdi!

Unfortunately, it sounds like they tried to drag racing it. I think the rubber burning smell can easily be traced to them burning the clutch up. I would consider talking to a lawyer about the car transport company.

I haven’t heard anything else from the buyer. That would be something he would’ve had to do himself. But i hope it’s doing good

Having serious thoughts of lifting my ‘99 beetle. I Like Knuckles from Wrenching Couple channel, but that might have wheel well and water issues from cutting the plastic guard away. Baja Bob had that problem, water into the air intake. I like what Zach did with the Apocalypse Beetle on Ultimate Rebuilds.

Oh no ... my poor Krysta ! For me, is really no your fault ! The carrier did not seem to want to pay attention to it! and you can't know what he did, luckily the person to whom you sold your spicy beetle realizes that it's not your fault because it's true! I've been following you for a very long time and you know it! and I know you will sell a car in good working order! because you are meticulous and a good person! if I lived near you, I would come to you to get a beetle!! or I will learn with you 🤣🤣! but I confirm that for me, you did everything in the rules! ❤️

He bought it its his now... most of those 2.0 and 1,8 turbo motors are all wore out or blown up by 150,000 miles...Many run the dog out of them or don't change the timing belt at 100,000 miles and thats all she wrote.. Values hitting the pistons,, it's done when you brake a timing belt.... I bought one beetle unseen, just pictures... The car hauler guy picked it up... It had been setting for sometime with the park brake on and the brake shoes had rusted to the rotors.. Yes this does happen... So he burnt the clutch out trying to load it... many times they leave the park brake on and burn them up also.. But anyway,, so now the car is part way loaded on the car hauler.. so to get it the rest of way on,, he hooks a cable and pulls it on.. but he wasn't watching close enough and broke the lower grill out.. then he was moving thru the local streets,, "car is on the top rack of the hauler" and hits the windshield of the beetle on a tree branch and breaks the windshield out... I did the work myself to fix everything and still cost me over 2000 to do everything... < haulers insurance,, I should had made them pay.. But I didn't.. No that car of yours was fine and sounded good when it left... We saw the dummy loading it bash the grill and bumper.. How stupid... These deals are as is... I've seen people rev up cold motors and blow the dip sticks out.. That means you just blew the rings out on the pistons... some people really are NOT very smart... I pickup a purple PT cruiser the other day... only problem it had was fan cooling switch... motor was perfect... someone must had lost a timing belt and had to rebuild it at onetime.. Motor is just like new... I have 1000 total into it (0: You can find great deals if you know your stuff.. I had a friend that traded a paper clip... then he traded what he got for it for something else and he keep selling and trading everything over and over again.. getting something better with each trade... starting with just that paper clip... In 2 years of trading he got a home free and clear-paid for.. from starting with just a paper clip... True story...

Oh wow! I’ve heard of something like that with the paper clip! That’s awesome! And the PT cruiser sounds like a great deal. Ferdi had timing belt and water pump done. All maintenance was current and it had 122k miles so it wasn’t new but it didn’t have super high mileage. I do use the ebrake so idk if the driver did not release it or what happened. Upsetting.

All the buyer had to do was to watch you videos and see how well you took care of Ferdi. He should know better. Even in the video clip (when you're at the back) you can here how well he runs.... YES!!!!!! LIFT IT!!!! Modern day Baja Bug. Think I've decided to get one and do a Smythe Ute.... Now to find one. 😁😁

It's a tough situation with the car you just sold. I think two things might have happened. The car was damaged during transport. On the other video when they were loading the beetle you can tell they did not care about what they were doing. The other possibility is that the car is just old and anything can go bad on a car that is well over 10 years of age. My bet is that the transporters might have drove the beetle and damaged the clutch and the engine.

Flashing engine light means it has a misfire either a bad plug or coil

They replaced them all. Just so odd because it wasn’t doing that… let alone all the cylinders. It was just so weird. He is still getting a burned rubber smell
