I think the sound is more impressive than the power. The power was just a bonus. You can't replicate that engine note if you've ever driven one. Too bad i bought it last year, and had engine light pop up. I got a refund. WIsh I bought it 10 years ago.

@Tristan S No, the N53 has DFI! And the N52 hasn‘t really got some expensive failures! Only i know ist that the N52B25 likes oil (i had one, about every 7.000-8.000km one litre engine oil) and some got failures with the electric waterpump!

The purest BMW hatchback ever. Absolutely love these cars. I had a privilege to be driven in a 125i Coupe and that thing was fantastic! That N52 sounds delightful and the car is so light, lively and nimble!

I really miss my 130i. It's the only car I've had that I've really truly loved. Brilliant n52 engine, which will go on forever and ever. No complicated turbo set up, just a big 3.0 straight 6, in a little 1 series. By today's standards, it's not as quick as the Golf R's etc, although not far off once rolling as I found out, but the power wasn't what made it special. Put it this way, I've recently had a 460bhp M140i, and despite it being ridiculously fast, I never loved it like the 130i. Says a lot really.

My brother has a 130i, i love the sound from the inside Dont need no V8 this is pure elegance

reminds me a bit of my dads old E46 330i he had when i was a kid, thats what got me into cars

I picked up a '07 130i only 2 weeks ago, absolutely love it so far, cant get enough of it's sound and looks :)

non FL version, I have a Facelifted 130i with Professional NAV, and it is nod foldable, and great looking.

My favorite bmw 1 series..the legendary 130i

I own this exact car, for the last 7 years, i probably think it could be one of the best looking stock car for the year and it gives me the fizz everytime i floor it. The only thing i have changed in the last 7 years was the thermostat and the water pump, this is a world war solid engine, amazing quality...i will get the B58 340i next and still keep this naturally aspirated BMW gem..

In 'Autobild' it was the most reliable car at that time. No engine failure, only thing were the door sills getting worn in 100k km. No signs of engine/drivetrain worn at all.

Damn I'm in love with that car... I have an E36 four cylinder which got me into BMWs in the first place but the more I get into BMWs the more I realize there is no real way around a six cylinder... And when I bought the car I actually thought I wouldn't want anything else for years...^^

I own a 120i e87 for work (+/- 10km no traffic lights or stops) best 5 min. Of the day

my first car was e87 118wd m47 90kw base, tuned to 120kw and 340nm at that time as a first car, rear drive it was like a rocket for me 😂

@@biggucci558 I don't know in Europe, but here in Brazil, examples sporting the 6-speed manual are a bit rare, but it's not impossible to find them...and the price is very good for the whole package. Perfect investment, in my book.

CMDR Razyr Wos bought my E90 330XI 6 speed with 60k for $11k USD few years back, like people are saying in chat there is no manual ones for sale within 300 miles of my home very rare

Sounds great. I guess that’s what you get with no turbo or PPF and less exhaust silencing.

So fun car and engine is great i have e36 fitted n52b30 engine, it is not finished but cant wait to get it on road

great little video of the BMW 130i ... i own one for 4 years now (3 door version - looks better imo!) and still love it! the combination of a small hatchback,straight 6 NA and rear wheel drive is unique and will probably never be made again :-( .... with an upgraded exhaust (watch my videos) suspension and brakes the car is an absolute weapon to drive ... especially with the windows down thru tunnels ;-)... thanks to AutoTopNL for making this video of a future classic!!! (or maybe it is allready!!).

I wish we had a no speed limit zone in the USA in every state

@@davidcb7275 I know what you mean. I have driven the e46 325ti. Yes, it isn't as fast as the 130i, but it felt more mechanical than the M140i. The steering was better and i loved the natural aspirated engine.

Do you really need a faster car than this? 250bhp with a n/a engine, power to the rear. You can get these in the UK now for 4/5k an absolute belter of a car.
