2001 - England v Australia - 3rd Ashes Test @ Nottingham
On the third day of the Third Test match Australia duly reached their 158 run victory target to clinch the series and retain the Ashes. Having bowled England out for just 162 during the morning session the tourists overcame the loss of the top three batsmen in their order and then saw their captain, Steve Waugh, retire hurt with a calf injury before racing to a convincing seven wicket win.

I loved watching Trescothick bat. Such a shame his england career was cut short
That shot by Mark Ramprakash had to be the 1st brain fade moment in the history of cricket match. Over the years I have seen many brain faded moment in cricket but that shot ! Till now no one could match with Ramprakash.

That was a genius shot if he smashed Warne for 6, Warnes career would have ended 😂
20:27 That was a no ball from Warne to Trescothick! Can't believe they missed that when using 3rd umpire!

They didn’t review no balls in those days.
This Aussie side was simply the best! They continued to dominate international cricket - all formats, right up to Shane Warne and Macgraht's retirement. Wonderful team, arguably better than the West Indian side of the 1970s and late 80s.
That Ramprakash shot in the second innings is criminal. Village.
poor old athers. Gets past McGrath for the first time ever. Gets to 50. Umpire shafts him😅
Damien marytn and mark waugh are best finishers of this series.
