2000 Yamaha XT 350 Carb Rebuild

Today I clean and rebuild the weirdest carb i’ve ever seen. I’ll show you how to take it apart.

Great Video. I know this is old, but for anyone looking at it, it is also worth removing the quarter shaped cover on primary carb, held on with Phillip heads for cleaning and inspecting. Under the cover is a spring and diaphragm that squirts extra fuel on quick acceleration.

I think you're referring to the Coasting Enricher / Afterburner Diaphragm, this is Not for extra fuel on quick acceleration... It's the exact opposite - when shutting off from full throttle it adds a richer fuel mix back to the primary carb.👍

Funny, I had to use an extractor on the secondary main jet as well. I'm pretty sure it has to do with that cross drilled port that supplies fuel. I used an m8-1.0 tap after I removed it to clean everything up.

My choke won't pull out out of the carb body no matter how hard I yank it. anyone else having this issue? Something is definitely odd with that because yours came out like you could have did it with your toes. i would just leave it alone but it isn't functioning properly. Also my diaphragm is torn.... anywhere you can get those besides dealership?

Hey, thanks for this video. I'm currently trying to revive a TT350 carb that is trashed. Not exactly the same as the XT350 carb but close enough that it's helped me figure out where exactly the o-rings go (the manual shows that an o-ring goes in the primary jet circuit but not exactly where) Also, one I was missing entirely (around the pickup tube in the carb bowl). I wish mine was as clean as your "dirty" one, it's a mess! It looks like someone was in it before and just plain didn't put o-rings back where they were supposed to go, then jetted it way down because it was running rich. I wonder why?!

@@deyjahellington7945 Update on this. I have the carb running perfectly now. The best rebuild kit for this carb is Keyster 0720N. It's expensive but has all parts that wear for this carb, including jets, emulsion tubes, needles, pilot jet and all gaskets including the coasting enricher diaphragm. The only part it doesn't have is the diaphragm for the secondary carb, but that is available through JBM Industries.

@@niconine268 Definitely get the Keyster kit for your year, either 0720N or 0621N. It's expensive but worth it as the cheapo $15 kits simply do not work or have the correct parts. Good luck.

Ydis carbs offer good low end torque, and are now efficient as they use less fuel to do so. The top end is not bad either but obviously after 2/4-3/4 if the throttle it will use more fuel.
