fuel petcock on=normal operation uses vacuum line to flow gas to carb. Pri=fill the float bowels in carb. Use this if you have drained tank or run tank dry. If your float bowel valves work, you can't tell the difference, but if they leak you will leak gas. Use pri to drain tank if you need to. Just like my old Suzuki, there no off position and no need for one.

The lock support that you didnt know where to go is a seat lock for the XV535, This kit works for both bikes

I have a virago 250 1997. In the netherlands. Great little bikes.

I had to order the exact same kit for my 2007 virago 250. Gas cap, ignition, fork lock, helmet lock and seat lock. Mine doesn't have the seat lock, and I'm not worried about the fork and helmet locks

What battery does this bike use? Been going crazy looking for a battery for my 2001 Virago.

It is a YB10L-A2 Battery.

Man, I was really hoping you'd go into where the ignition cables need to get spliced. I have the same exact kit and I can't figure it out. Did you end up solving the issue? I was thinking red to red, black to brown, and green to blue, and then there's that extra black/white cable?

Yeah I’m worried about the same thing.. my ignition switch on my 96 virago just went out and I ordered this Amazon kit. Hopefully I can figure out how to splice the cables and get it installed properly.. it should arrive in the mail in a couple of days so we will see

What I ended up doing was just replacing the cylinder from the new one into the old housing. When you put the new one in, put the key in and turn it to where the tumblers fall into the cylinder and use a small flathead screwdriver or knife to push the locking plate down to slide it all the way in. I ordered the same kit and ran into the same issue with the plugs not being the same

How did you replace the gas cap key locksmith told me I'll have to drill to do it which I didn't quite understand so how did you do yours please? Trying to avoid paying the locksmith $100 to make new keys instead of buying a kit for $40

I bought a whole new set from Amazon. Repleced the key and gas tank locks.

They do yes $190 for an ignition switch it's easier I'm sure to get the wrong one from Amazon and wire it your existing plug if it's wrong which I'm sure we are wanting know just the same as o want to know how he did it what switch did he get there are many wrong ones only one right and none of us want to spend $190 for one plus shipping
