This is one of the most beautiful S Class design! I remember seeing one of these parked at where I used to work by. She's beautiful, striking, all polish and shine. I didn't care much about cars back then nor what type of car this was, but I knew it was definitely a nice looking car. Apparently it was owned by a doctor...I will never forget this car true eye candy every time I would dump the trash and never forget to take a look at her. Someday I will own one...

I got a 2006 Mercedes S500 for my 20th birthday back in 2012 and it is still a very nice car to drive! It had 75,000 miles on it when I first got it and it now has 195,613 miles on it as of today and still going strong! I drive it every single day and use it for road trips as well! Just as long as you're doing routine oil changes and checkups on your mercedes s class, you'll be good. Before I got got car, I was driving a 2003 Chrysler PT cruiser touring edition and it was a piece of shit! It over heated on me all the time and broke down sometimes and it was always in the shop and it was costing me lots of money to fix!! I just love my Mercedes W220! It's sooo nice and fast, luxurious, and has distronic cruise control, pre-safe, parking sensors, a navigation system, contour seats, bose audio, Airmatic suspension (I'm surprised the airmatic suspension hasn't gone out yet), and so much more! This car has more technology than my Sister's 2018 Nissan Altima!

I watched this video because I bought a 2000 s500 with 115,000 miles like a year ago for $1000. Yup 1k. The only thing it had bad was that the front air shocks leaked after sitting for half a day. After getting estimates to replace them I thought wtf !!! The average cost was $1000 to replace each one!! So it sat in my garage for a year until I decided it was time to fix the damn thing. I did some research and decided to convert the suspension into the regular spring coils like most cars. Since it was a year 2000 car I didn’t want to deal with something else going bad with the air ride. So I bought the conversion kit for $800 (front and back) and had my machanic install them, he changed me $600 to do all four. He said it was a pain in the ass because it wasn’t nothing like it showed on the video. I think it drives and feels awesome, also, I have a piece of mind knowing that the suspension will not fail on me again. Sooo... the reasons I watched the video was because I didn’t know anything about the features it has and what the buttons do. Lol. But I still don’t know how to lower the back shade. 🤦🏽‍♂️ Can someone please help. Thanks.

I remember riding in a 2001 S-class for the first time... I felt like I was in star wars. Compared to my dad's 626 Mazda, this thing was a spaceship. Over the years, I've had the pleasure to drive several w220s and they have all been brilliant. Tho if you do want a 2000s S-class, I do recommend getting the facelift. Less issues and a more modern and flush design.Looking forward to buying an S400CDI as a weekend car.

it amazes me how on previous S-class W140 they designed that lunatic grab handle that automatically swings out of the trunk lid...instead of installing the hidraulic trunk lid operation system like on bmw e38. Same on this W220, all the doors have a softclose feature...but no fucking power trunk....Hillarious german engeneering.

The down side to this car like so many other high end luxury car auto makers from around 1995 - 2006 is the technology and features in these cars could only be used in during the time period they were brand new. For example, the phone system in these cars cannot be used in today's time because you had to have a certain type of cell phone and service that would connect with these cars which most of the time the phone itself was usually provided by the car dealership when purchasing the car new. So if you go out today and buy a 12 to 18 year old S Class, 7 series, or Jaguar XJ8 in today's time, you can't use the phone system at all, the Navigation systems are not up to date and are missing a lot of information, and the SOS Button is no longer set up to connect you to anyone anymore. So in today's time to say you have one of these cars isn't really much to brag about when it comes to talking about all of it's gadgets that are now just dead unusable buttons and space. Point is these type of cars were build for what they knew and technology for that time period and nothing past that. Where in today's time, auto makers have built cars with technology and features that can still operate and function even 10 years from now. Hopefully. I guess we'll have to wait and see if your $100,000 2016 S Class features can still be used and operate in 2026.

It's not about all of the gadget that you can't use. It's the brand appeal. Many people buy older Mercedes and BMWs from 1970s - 2008+ because of the appeal. The newer cars have the latest technology that's true. But the latest doesn't always mean the greatest. This is why the smartest and wealthiest people don't buy the newest car. They buy the used models because of the brand appeal. I can still get head turns driving a 2000 Benz S500 as I would if I owned a 2008 Benz S500 with slightly newer technology.

  • @faznout

Very true. But in todays time auto makers have all caught up with each other when it comes to options and features. So now there's no longer any separation anymore between a Hyundai and a benz. You can get the same features and options in a $30,000 Hyundai that come in a $100,000 high end luxury car. Yes the quality of parts are different but when someone says hey my new benz comes with navi, touch screen, soft closing doors, back up camera, blue tooth and more. Someone who drives a new Hyundai or Toyota can now say, yea mine to. So telling someone today that you bought a brand new BMW or Benz ain't much to brag about anymore.
