My cat never want to be picked up. I do it anyway. He loves me for 5 seconds. He is still a kitten, almost 1 y 😻And he follows me anywhere lol It is all about reading your cat. Sometimes he need to get his claws trimmed, toothbrushing (he hates that!) and brushing. I do it when he sleep heavily. Taking it very careful. He loves to be brushed, and he want to bite the brush, so then I use the toothbrush 😸 I disagree about thr handplay. It depends on the cat. My cat likes it, but not often, and only for a short time. He have never bitten or hissed at me. He have clawed me, but only by accident.

Does anyone really have a cat that doesn't know the difference between hand play and real prey? My cat starts this suddenly on her own sometimes during petting and really enjoys getting me. She obviously understands it's a play date and is very gentle with her claws which she keeps razor sharp. #tuxedo
