  As a Maine coon owner, most of what was said can be said for most cats. But yes they do like to be groomed, they can be talkative and they like to go outside.

  Picked up a 12 yr old stray. Having a vet check her out. So far an upper respiratory infection, eyelid infection and heart murmur. Giving her antibiotics and having a blood work-up performed and waiting on result. But I have no road map for her routine. 😿

  I have two brothers. They are very smart and loveable. They NEVER tear up anything and mind me very well. I would NOT trade them for anything else. They get along fine with an old female Calico and little dog.

  Thank you for this informative video! ❤ I'd like to add to the fur issue - yes, they might get stressed if their fur becomes knotted, but remember: cats lick themselves regularly, and when that involves so much fur, it might lead to a bowel obstruction. My maine coon had to undergo two abdominal surgeries, even though we brush her regularly.

  I’m a say this is false. I have a Maine coon cat mix with tuxedo cat he is 4 1/2 years now I had him since he was a kid and had no problems with him. The only thing is he doesn’t like other animals around me.😅

  You should NEVER advise/tell people NOT to adapt anyone, for any reason. Adaption is often necessary to survival, and cats have it tough in Western Society. I rescued two Norwegian Forest Cats in the last 15 years, and they are Legendary in my neighborhood. Immensely loyal, quiet, and top-notch hunters. Most of these reasons you give I can dismiss with experience, as the two cats breeds [NFC's and Maine Coons] are very close genetically. they hide from commotion, true. So what of that? Would you rather they into the fray? As for grooming, it isn't a pain, and bonds you to your animal, and them to you. No, read this thread; everyone thinks you're wrong, because you are. Cats are indispensable and have been found in tombs from over 9,000 years ago!

  What a load of BS! I had a female tabby maybe 6 months old come up to me in a parking lot on a very hot day, I took her home and she is sweet as cake.. She adores our dog, sleeps next to him and follows him everywhere. Not a mean bone in her little body. She’s now 6 years old and very slender. Whoever put this shit together should be ashamed of themselves. 😡

  Mine was a feral, who i adopted one bad below feezing temp winter night, enclosed my back porch for him that night w a heating pad fuzzy warm bed. And yet hes not once let me pet him in the 3yrs since that winter night i set up his room bed and food bowls. Super sad, he had to of had someone be really cruel to him for him to still be so skittish of humans, me. Ive laid on the ground for over an hour and he only came maybe a foot away from me and runs away if i even move a finger.
