You’re paying for one, you’re promoting the breeding of disabled cats

Munchkin cats are the cat equivalent of a pug. Sure there both cute but they are gonna live a horrible and physically uncomfortable life compared to there brethren.

I don't think it's right to breed specific characteristics into pets for the sole purpose of cuteness, causing them to be disadvantaged in many ways.

That list became incredibly redundant

All these current comments are deranged. You people are cruel, these cats live in pain, yet you wish to ignore it to the point you can't even be reasoned with. So I'm just gonna say to the creator of this video, thank you for spreading more awareness about this issue. Maybe you'll get through to somebody in time.

Munchkin cats is animal abuse. It's horrible that a shallow whim of humans is the reason for mistreating cats. In my opinion, this breed should be forbidden.

My short legged cat is not in pain and has adjusted to his limits. I did not want this cat at first but now have great affection for him. My vet says the short legs are a mutation and people bread them for the short legs and fox like fluffy tail. I am not cruel and am not "you people" nor am I "deranged". You could have made your point in a nice way that may have enlightened some people to do the right thing but unfortunately those statements just turn people off.

@@michaelvitelli3561 i feel like you didn't see the same comments i saw, this person is calling out those people who are breeding these cats, those people who are buying from unethical breeders, those people who do not care about the health of animals and only care about aesthetics. you are very clearly not that person, and neither is anyone who rescues one of these babies. the point is never that these babies don't deserve love we just need to stop breeding future animals for looks. you're not in the wrong here at all so please don't take offense to ops comment

Plenty of cat owners that do this and then indignantly blame the coyote or the evil truck driver.

The second reason was a little iffy. Cats can be difficult animals especially ones that you don't Know the background of. It's sadly the same with dogs too. A munchkin seems like a good cat for specific people just like a pitbull is only good for specific owners.

Maybe this info is nost true. I do like the idea of not haveing a cat mill. We have 7 cats with inside and out freedom built for cats. They love it and it costs some money. Even the vets cost a lot of money now for cats, a scam for sure but . . .

You can teach a cat not to do that. My cats NEVER jump on the table or counter tops. When it comes to the book shelves, it's a little bit harder because that's part of the cat's natural behavior. So the best is to provide an alternative. Especially if only want to keep it indoors. If you buy a Munchkin cat it won't jump on your counter tops, not because it doesn't want to, but because it can't. And be aware of that your cat is more prone to develop painful health issues because of its build and do you really want to put your cat through that? If your answer is yes, I don't think you should get a cat at all.

Maybe you should get a dog. The less rules you have for a cat the better their life. They may follow the rules when you are there but when you are gone they will do what they want. Never, ever hit your cat; offer them an alternative action and they will love you.

I love cats, I have two right now and have had others before. I know how healthy and normal cats move, and in my opinion, animals should be able to exercise their natural behavior even if they are pets. This is taken away from the munchkin cats, and they are more prone to have painful health issues. I've seen cats here on KZread that are so hard breeded that the poor cats can hardly walk. I don't back down on this: Munchkin cats is animal cruelty.
