20 Minute Morning Somatic Yoga for Beginners | Let Go Of All That No Longer Serves You

This somatic yoga class is focused around opening the hips. You’ll embark on a journey of releasing not only physical pain but also emotional burdens. The hips are often considered a storehouse for emotions, holding onto stress, trauma, and unresolved feelings.
Through this practice I am going to encourage you to explore the sensations and emotions stored in your hips/body. As you gradually unlock tightness and let go of stagnant energy in this area, you’ll begin to unravel negative emotions that may have become lodged within.
With each stretch and breath, I’d like you to acknowledge and let go of any emotional blockages.
So, get your pillows, cushions, thin blanket and I’ll see you on the mat.

    Thank you so much! A mom of a 11 year boy and almost 2 year old at 42. My both of my parents health have a become a huge concern. I was feeling so much stress and anxiety. I have hip issues and they were hurting so bad. I finally got some time today and just finished your video. I almost fell asleep at the end. I feel so much better mentally and have so much pain relief. Tysm for these videos. I’m excited to try out the others

    Thank you so much for this class. I have heard so much about how good somatic yoga can be for women who are perimenopausal so i thought i would give it a try. Can i as,k i was so overwhelmed by the movements i burst out crying in the middle of the class! I did not realise how much the movements affected my body! Is this normal? . I will definitely keep going with this but just wanted to share my first experience with you. I really enjoyed this overall.

    Hi Reshma, thank you checking before hand. I would recommend you do another somatic class a few times first. Here is the link: 15 Minute Morning Somatic Yoga I Yoga for Beginners kzread.info/dash/bejne/m4aksq6fhpyXaZs.html Reason being is that you should strengthen the muscles which support the spine, the core too in order to take pressure off the spinal muscles, and give your neck a good stretch, this video provides all the above. Be gentle and mindful the first few times you do this video and let me know how you get on. Always listen to your body and if you feel pain, reduce the intensity (so reduce range of motion). Do smaller movements, don't over stretch... When you've done it a few times say 1 week, you can move onto the video you asked about.

    Hi Mandi, it isn't a mat they are gym floor boards that I cut to fit the mat. They are fantastic, it allows us to film everywhere.

    This was a wonderful practice. Unfortunately it was interrupted by ads several times. Not sure why. I do lots of yoga with KZread without this happening
