@@tackcolin6645 So... Huge national brands that sold highly processed food "back in the day" were not motivated by greed? There are many reasons why there is more obesity now, not related to better nutrition for some people. These include more suburban sprawl (walking healthier than driving) and kids not being allowed to play outdoors despite less actual crime than when they were allowed. these also include the fact that many people do not actually eat more healthy food. They eat food with less fat but even more sugar.

Both these flavours are product diversification of fruit chews under the same name, they also make ice cream topping in those flavours too.

It was kind of hush-hush, but Tang was discontinued for a short period of time, when the FDA mandated that all food manufacturers stop using a certain orange flavoring, due to its links to cancer. There were a few other products that were caught up in the ban, too, such as orange flavored Crystal Light, Wylers, Sunny-D, Tampico Punch, etc. Basically, if it was orange flavored and tasted better than orange Kool-Aid, it was affected by the ban and had to reformulate. The FDA didn't mandate an immediate ban, though. They gave manufacturers a deadline and notified them some years in advance. Some products managed to reformulate before the deadline and never went missing from store shelves (Sunny-D), while others didn't (Tang). Some manufacturers opted to just drop carrying an orange flavored option entirely (such as Crystal Light and Wylers)

Quisp - The last time I had it was in the early 90's, it was brought back for a limited time. Sunny D - That was so popular, I bought it regularly when I stared my family. SPAM - I grew up on it from the 70's. I still buy it when the mood hits. Cornbeef Hash - I still have it for breakfast with eggs. Jiffy Pancakes - Didn't use, we grew up on Hungry Jack Pancakes and Aunt Jemiama Fruit Cocktail - I learned to hate it as kid in the 70's. The school served it everyday and mom used it in Jello. Eggs in a nest - Never did it. TV Breakfast - We didn't do those. We either cooked breakfast or did hot or cold cereal. Chipped Beef on Toast, a.k.a. S.O.S. - Let's just say there was a small time in my life I had to eat it. After that I never went back to it. Now biscuits and sausage gravy is a different ball game! Maxwell House Coffee - It was this coffee that made me try Starbucks when they started popping up in my area. My old job served this swill everyday. Haven't touched it since. Creamed Eggs on Toast - I never had it. Maypo - I never had it. We grew up on Quaker Oats and Uncle Ben's Cream of Wheat. Space Food Sticks - I think we tried it once in the 70's and never did again. King Vitamin Cereal - I remember it but never tried it. Me and my siblings were cereal snobs. It was Sugar Pops, Honeycomb, Sugar Smacks, Frosted Flakes, Fruit Loops, but never this. Post Fortified Flakes - Again, as kids it wasn't going on our list. Wheatena - We never had it. Grape-nuts -It was okay, but again never on our list of cereal. However, Rasin Bran was on our list. Grilled grapefruit with Marachino cherries - Nope, we never did this. We had plenty of grapefruits because mom loved them. But as kids we did sprinkle sugar on top.

A couple of hours later after you're finished cutting the grass and you're all hot and sweaty pop it out. Carnation Instant Breakfast drink and their Energy Breakfast Bars were my favorites. I can still taste them now!
