This video was so valuable to me. Thank you, Ryan. Not just as an aspiring writer who needs to hear the story of discipline, but as a human being who needs to remember that the process is what is transformative, not the result.

Anybody watching this for the first time after reading? Can’t imagine it being called Self-Discipline is Salvation - both great titles but Discipline is Destiny has a divine ting to it - as did reading the book!

This is a brilliantly honest BTS. Although this is about the ups and downs of writing a book, it really can be applied to pursuing any long-term passion project. Bravo and thank you for releasing this.

Man, book writing aside, I’m impressed that you video file management is good enough that you were able to film over two years and then actually have all the assets (and know where they are) when it was time to edit them into one video!

Absolutely loved this book. Bought it at an airport simply because of the title and finished it before I landed :) He definitely made the right choice on the title and although at the time I didn't realize it was the second book in the series I just ordered Courage is calling and cant wait to read that one as well.

I like the lo-techness of this video. Obviously Ryan has a whole team of assistants, and even a proper camera crew at times. But this video is Ryan just putting his phone on its little stand and documenting his process, and the key moments in producing a book. It feels personal, simple, and authentic.

This was the best book I have ever read and I have read all of Holiday’s books and many he suggests! It is amazing after reading to be able to see the process of it being written. As Holiday continues to bring Stoicism ‘into the arena’ as he says leading to part 3, he will put himself on the Mount Rushmore of Stoics by sharing this philosophy when the world has needed it most in all of history.
